We’ve been going through a couple of days with air quality warnings because of the wildfires in Canada. It’s also been extremely hot, so we’ve been staying inside – except to water all the plants, of course. And in Don’s case, to take a short walk in the morning.
I’m going to try to mow a bit this morning before it gets too hot. We’ve been leaving the lawn alone because of the heat and the lack of rain but the front lawn in getting too long, so it’s time. I also have to do some work on the play, and finish our deductions to send to our new tax person. Our former tax preparer retired last year and we miss her! We worked with her for 26 years.
Please say a prayer for my best friend, Laural, who has been going through several health crises over the past months. We had a long talk on the phone yesterday. My heart goes out to her. She is such an incredible person; we met when I was 12, so that makes 60 years of friendship. She has had more than enough health issues to battle in her lifetime and it’s time for that to end. I want to see her healthy and thriving once more.

I thought Miyoshi looked too hot in her kimono and I wanted to see her in a dress. (Don misses the kimono.) Isn’t she pretty? I find myself looking at her a lot during the day. I love this customization – Maiko created a perfect doll. Don’t worry, she’ll don her kimono soon; most certainly for Christmas as that red color is perfect for the holidays.
She has the rosiest lips of any of my Blythes.
Heavens, I love looking at her!
Okay. Gearing myself up for mowing later this morning.
Stay safe.
Happy Wednesday.

stay safe in the heat and with the air quality problem!
everyone needs a change now and then … scenery, how we spend our time, clothing … and the kimono is always there. in the meantime, another cute outfit for miyoshi.
prayers said. more to follow.
had a nice overcast, relatively cool morning and a hankering for soup yesterday so made a new-to-me recipe for black bean soup. pretty good as is, but when i make it again, i will add fewer carrots, less vegetarian broth, and skip the crushed tomatoes. that will be a while … have lots of leftovers (huge batch), but that’s okay. :)
now time to feed earl and the birds.
happy, safe wednesday to everyone.
kathy
Air quality warning was not in effect today.
A huge batch of soup is always great to have on hand.
Stay safe.
Yes, I am hoping it cools off soon too! Be careful out there – hope the mowing goes smoothly (and quickly)!
Thank you, Ellen.
It was very hot!
Stay safe.
Take it easy doing the mowing in the heat. It’s early evening and 84F which is lovely but worrying when you see how low some reservoirs are. However, Autumn is usually very wet so they hopefully will refill.
I remember that you’ve mentioned your friend Laural before and pray for a speedy recovery.
Happy Wednesday
Our rivers and reservoirs are very low. The same thing happened here last year.
Thanks so much, Dee Dee.
I wish the best for your friend and hope for a quick recovery. Then may she sail into a period of good health for a long, long time.
Take Care,
Kaye
Thank you, Kaye.
Stay safe.
Myoishi looks so cute in her dress. Love way her hair colour matches the turquoise in her pretty dress. Don’t overdo the mowing. It’s still pretty hot out there. Hugs, Elaine
It was much hotter than I had anticipated.
I’m tired.
Stay safe, Elaine.
I miss the kimono too– I think it would be cooler than that dress. I remember your mentioning Laural before. All good thoughts. We’re in the heatwave too. Again.
You wouldn’t think so if you felt how heavy it is!
Stay safe, Jeanie.
