Yep. About 6:30 I went outside to cover everything on the porch with tarps when I realized it would be easier to haul everything inside. So, while Don was cooking dinner, I went in and out, putting the plants on the floor, on the kitchen table, on the pew, on the floor in the den, on the footstool by the stairs. Don said it was like we were having visitors for the night and he was right. It was about 36 degrees when I got up this morning. It’s now in the forties. After I finish this post, I’ll start taking them back outside.
Monty is in the thick of it.
It’s going to be cold tonight – a low of 38 – but no frost warning, so I’ll leave everything outside. As far as I can tell, the morning glories survived the cold. Good news.
We’ve been having trouble with our internet – whether it’s the modem or the router, I’m not sure. But I’ve had to reboot the modem a couple of times (including this morning). All this is to say that if I don’t post one day, that will most likely be the reason. Hopefully, I’ll find the cause sooner rather than later. Our router is quite old, so that might be it.
Today, maybe a little mowing and mulching of the leaves on the front lawn. Don may try to take some photos. He did well the past couple of days.
We started a new series on Netflix last night – Goliath – starring Billy Bob Thornton and a supporting cast of wonderful actors. We’ve seen two episodes and like it very much.
Okay. Have to get going.
I’ve disabled the comment reply plugin for the time being, as I’m having a few problems with it. So, if you don’t mind, check back a couple hours after you leave the comment and you’ll see the reply on the blog.
Happy Saturday.

We have a frost warning coming late next week, so I’ll be dragging my outdoor plants into the garage overnight. Otherwise, last week I repotted my spider plants, jade plants, and Christmas cactus that were all outside and brought them in for the fall/winter. Makes me kind of sad when I have to do this, but must be done. Turned my heat on for the first time yesterday evening.
Have a good weekend!
Claudia says
We had to turn ours on this morning! Thanks, Melanie.

Charming guests. Glad they had a night “in.”
Re: internet – I had problems yesterday – turned out to be another Windows update wanting to be done.
At a recent library stop to pick up something new, I luckily found I Am Pilgrim in the Library Friends sale corner. It is good. Thank you for having mentioned it.
Our heater had to get turned on last week – welcome to San Francisco. Fortunately only an hour at 6am.

I don’t have Windows, so that’s not it!
Glad you found that book, Martha. Hope you enjoy it!

The sun shining in your kitchen windows is so pretty! Temps 100+ here in the South this week. I can’t wait to move back to New England.
Claudia says
Oh boy. I’m so sorry it’s that hot! Thanks, Lynda.

I started Goliath last night as well! I’ve been looking for a regular show and Billy Bob seemed the right thing. I think “regular” TV is just exhausting to me most of the time. I have little patience with thin plots, over-the-top hamming and endless commercials. Old age=less patience?
Claudia says
Maybe that. We can’t stand the commercials either. And there’s nothing on broadcast tv that we’re interested in. Once you’ve started streaming or watching something like TCM, you don’t ever want to see a commercial again!

It looks like our 1st frost will be next weekend. Later this week we will bring in the plants that will be our guests until the spring. I guess it is time! We bought a new plant light for the sun porch where we will keep them through the too long winter as the old one gave up last year.
It is a cold and rainy day here today. We have had several of those lately, and we now need some sun to get the remainder of the outdoor jobs done. Hope you had a peaceful day.
Claudia says
The week after next might be a problem. We don’t have a sun porch, so we really can’t bring anything inside for the winter except the fern – and that’s huge – and my geranium. Thanks, Chris.

I will add Goliath to my list. I wondered if it was good. Now I know.
Claudia says
I think you’ll enjoy it, Kay. xo

I had a feeling you were going to take care of your plants. ;) You have a sweet life!! Well, aside from the internet issues. Have a great day!
Claudia says
Thanks, Suz!
Nora in CT says
My goodness!! When you bring them in, you realize, or at least I did, how many plants you have!! And they are beautiful!! That was a lovely photo with the sun pouring in. I’m glad you and Don decided to do your trip despite the upsetting tax news. So many people I know got clobbered by it. My husband does our taxes and he really doesn’t want me involved. I just sign the forms. It’s going to be a big problem for me someday. I hope the week brings you all good things.
Claudia says
I was rather stunned! Don couldn’t believe all the impatiens started from little seedlings.
Thank you, Nora!

Ugh. I hate internet issues. Hope yours are resolved.
Yes, that chill is happening here, too. Like you, I will bring things in, at least for awhile. The impatiens are to die for!
Claudia says
I have to call our local provider today and figure out if it’s the modem (their’s) or the router (ours).
Thanks, Jeanie!
