Well, I just paid Bluehost the hefty fee for another year of hosting my blog. I could do without all the AI crap on their site. I was shocked when I saw it. I wrote and expressed my feelings on that, not that it will make a difference. I find it chlling how quickly so many companies are adopting it. I’d talk about it more, but I woke up way too early this morning, and I don’t have the energy to fully tackle that subject.
I will avoid AI like the plague.

I worked on the floor in the bedroom and it’s finished. I also screwed up a few things that I have to fix later today. The right side of the house, on floors 2 and 3, was put together incorrectly and I’m coming to terms with the reality of that. I have to work around it and sometimes that is next to impossible. But there’s no way I could have taken that side of the house apart and fixed it. Just as in life, we all have houses with imperfections, and we often don’t have the money or skills to fix them.
Same here.
Anyway, some of the day was frustrating and some of it flowed easily. But ii took another 4+ hours to stain the popsicle sticks and lay the rest of the floor.

I like it.
Taken early this morning. I’ll be getting some sort of wardrobe for the wall on the left, bedside tables, and a table for the area next to the chaise longue. And lamps and rugs and pictures and things, but that will be later.
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.

Wow, that’s a lot of work! Looks sweet, though. Have a nice weekend.
Thanks so much, Ellen.
Stay safe.
it’s all beautiful, and the white trim shows off the pretty floors and wallpaper. nice work, claudia!
ai is very scary to me. awful that there’s no way to harness it now to only consolidate/do research to cure health problems, end hunger and climate change or solve crimes and not scam people or put them out of work. that ship has sailed …
leaving soon to go hear the bodeans in chicago. will be home by noon tomorrow. both good things.
and thanks in advance for another good thing … paying for and writing/sharing another year of mhc.
hope you, don and everyone else have a lovely weekend. stay safe.

We need to stop more data centers being built.
Thanks, Kathy.
Enjoy your concert!

You did a fine job, Claudia. That chaise longue is adorable. Would love to curl up on it for a nap. Glad you renewed your blog for another year. I would really miss your posts if hadn’t. Hope you and Don have a lovely weekend. Hugs, Elaine
One more year, I think. Never say never, but that’s what I’m thinking.
Thanks, Elaine.
Stay safe.
Getting to read your blog for another year is a lovely gift. Thank you.
How was the house put together wrong on the right side of floors 2 and 3? And how will that affect you refurbishing those areas?
The bedroom floor looks wonderful with the wallpaper.
Too hard to explain, Wendy, especially when I’m sleep deprived!
Thanks so much.
Stay safe.
What a beautiful room! So cozy. You have an eye for decorating and a lot more patience than me! I’m glad you decided to up for another year. I enjoy your posts. :)
Thank you, Betsy!
More to come, as the budget permits.
Stay safe.
Good Morning again, Claudia. The floor does not disappoint! It is drop dead gorgeous! That room is now so inviting… calm… sweet but not fussy, and moody in a nostalgic way. I Love it! I am not surprised there are construction “mistakes” in the structure… those kits are tricky to assemble, especially the larger ones with lots of “interesting ” features. The instructions tell you to follow faithfully, but people tend not to read them because they are complex! So it goes. You are doing a wonderful job with this old house that needed a loving touch.
And thank you for continuing your blog! There are fewer and fewer bloggers out there… it takes time and it takes enjoying writing and it can feel “empty” with so little feedback. I keep going because it is a record of what I have done for the past sixteen years…. and counting! And it is one of the only ways to really share miniatures as a passion! :) So thank you!
I’ve just decided to accept the imperfections. If I can correct them, I will, but if I can’t – that’s the charm of older, used dollhouses!
I just tested to see if I could leave a comment on your blog. Usually, I can’t on Blogger blogs. But for some reason, it worked!
Stay safe, Betsy.
Hi Claudia! Thank you for your comment on my blog! I think my (older) computer goes through updates to the security from time to time that change how even I can sign into my own accounts. During those periods the security is just different, but then after a few days or weeks, something catches up with itself and the “security” gets different again. It is weird. And I’ve given up trying to figure it out or stay ahead of it. But thank you for trying! It is nice to see your face in my comments. :)
Well, I have a problem commenting on ANY Blogger blog and have for years! I don’t know why, especially since I still have a blogger account.
I’m glad the comment came through, Betsy.
Claudia: You do beautiful work. Chris (your friend you’ve never met)
Thank you so much for your kind words, Chris.
Stay safe!
I went down the “Miniature Shows near me” rabbit hole and discovered amazing 3-D printed accessories. (Who knew?!) If I were 40 or 50 years younger, perhaps I’d dive in. Instead I will continue to enthusiastically admire your dollhouses!
Here’s to another year of Mockingbird Hill community. It’s comforting to know I’m not alone in feeling helpless as our beloved country teeters on the edge. Your lovely daily life reminds me to continue to appreciate my garden and craft projects and the seasons.
Cheers!
Oh, thank you so much, Roxie. Your words mean so much!
Stay safe.
It’s looking wonderful, Claudia. I liked seeing your work table, too. That wallpaper looks worth the wait!
It was, that’s why I never canceled the order!
Thanks, Jeanie.
Stay safe.
