Prepping

August 18, 2025 at 7:49 am by Claudia

The smaller Rose of Sharon bush has started to bloom. I always forget that the color is deeper on these flowers. So pretty!

We had a very hot and uncomfortable weekend. But today is much cooler and that is very, very welcome.

This will be brief. I’ve been working hard all weekend. Today we have to shop – food for Don, who won’t have a car this week – and food for me to take to NJ. I’ve made lists of things to pack. It’s shocking how much I have to take for 6 days, but it is what it is. And I have to show Don where and how to water while I’m gone.

After years and years of going out of town to work, the appeal of it all is gone. We don’t want to be away from each other. But, if it means work, we do it. So that’s what I’m doing this week. Hopefully, Don will get a chance to do the same thing soon.

This is very short, but I have a lot to do. Thanks for all the supportive comments on my last post. You are the best,

Stay safe.

Happy Monday.

I don’t like to away from home either. I enjoy my routine and prefer to stick to it. How long is your drive to NJ?

you have lots to do while knowing that for a bit you will be away from home and all its comforts, especially don … not easy … so i hope you and don get plenty of time together on the glider or the sofa today and that you take good care of yourself.

may the week and work ahead go well and go fast for you both. stay safe.

Gorgeous color on your Rose of Sharon. Reminds me of a Georgia O’Keefe painting.

I’m glad it’s cooled off a bit for you…hope you have good weather while you are away. Safe travels tomorrow. You got this…you have wisdom and experience on your side. Hope it’s a great week for you. Enjoy the adventure! ;)

That is probably the longest you have been apart in a long time. What is Don going to do to keep busy? I know my husband would be totally bored if he was alone for that long. I am happy you have some work though. Have a safe trip!

All the best for your time away, Claudia. Hope that you have taken one of your girls in your packing.
The time should pass quickly if you’re busy. Enjoy being back in your world of the theatre and look forward to being able to tell Don all about it.
    Take care

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
