A quick little post today, as I don’t have a whole lot to say! It’s a beautiful Saturday and Autumn is officially two days away. We had a lovely but hard summer with lots of extremes in temperature, rain, no rain, air quality warnings from smoke, and excessive heat warnings.
So, Don and I are definitely ready for Fall. Oh yes indeed.
A little grocery shopping today, a lot of reading (I didn’t read enough yesterday,) and I’m not sure what else. I was going to mow today but I’ve pulled a muscle in my upper back. I’m sure it will calm down but I don’t want to aggravate it by mowing.
We’re getting our Covid vaccine and flu shots on Monday morning. None of this “no vaccine” nonsense for us. We’ve never had Covid because we’re very careful and we’ve renewed our vaccines every year. Heck, if I have to wear a mask again, I will. I wore a mask for 15 hours a day when we were shooting Spoiler Alert. For six weeks. No one on that set got sick – and we worked all over NYC. We have a responsibility not only to ourselves but to everyone around us.
End of lecture.
I’m really loving Katabasis. Lots more reading on the docket for today.

Jessie resting in the basket right before we set out for New Jersey.

Jessie in the hotel room.
These girls are great company when I have to travel solo.
The play opened last night and it went really well. Hurrah!
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.

My son who lives with me had Covid last week (everyone at his work got it) but thankfully I did not catch it from him as I had my Covid vaccine at the end of June. Vaccines work!
Hope your back feels better. I’m off to my grandson’s soccer game…
I’m so glad you didn’t come down with it, Ellen.
Stay safe.
hope your back heals quickly and the grocery shopping goes fast, too, so you have more time to read a good book.
very much agree about having responsibility to help others by taking care of ourselves through vaccines, staying home when sick, not driving recklessly … part of living in a civil society and being kind, making life easier for everyone.
cool gray morning here so had a lovely walk with my sister. met rusty, a very young and very wiggly cockapoodle with a schnauzer’s face, very dark fur with little patches of gold. darling!
need to sort a few boxes, then put what’s staying, at least for now, in the basement. grateful to have (had) those things, including the basement. consolidating three households into one has been a hard, slow process. don’t see or feel “the light at the end of the tunnel” yet, but we will get there.
best i get to it now.
hope you, don and everyone else have a nice weekend. stay safe in every way.
kathy
Hang in there, Kathy.
Stay safe.
Have fun while you’re working, Claudia. I hope the commute home is quick and smooth.
I’m getting my vaccination on Monday. Though the COVID vaccine knocks me down for three days of high fever and large muscle weakness (so I can’t walk and am confined to the bedroom), I get the vaccine at least annually. The inconvenience of a few days (hey, unlimited reading!) far outweighs the inconvenience of getting COVID. I know the vaccine doesn’t prevent my getting COVID but decreases the symptoms, but I don’t want it anyway. I’ve never gotten it.
Oh I’m done with the show, Wendy. I finished last Sunday.
You’re right. Better to get the vaccination!
Stay safe.
Here, provided you meet the eligibilcriteria (which are, to be honest, pretty loose), you can get a Covid vaccine every 6 months. Government subsidised. People in our age group are offered a range of free vaccines, including shingles and pneumococcal, which my husband had the other day (he has recently turned 70).
Thank goodness for “socialised medicine”!
Here it is supposed to be Spring but it snowed steadily all day yesterday: we want some sunshine!
I’m a big fan of socialized medicine, Denise.
Thanks so much.
Stay safe.
I need to do flu/covid this week. I was waiting for our pharmacy to get the new Covid but I’m getting a little leery of that idiot committee meeting and possibly changing things again. I hope the show goes well!
We’d be okay because Governor Hochul has okayed vaccines for everyone, but I get it – the committee is worrisome.
Stay safe, Jeanie.
I enjoyed your Saturday post both words and photos.
I hope to get both my covid and flu vaccinations tomorrow. I do not follow nor believe anything that comes out from this puke administration or anyone who supports them.
Todays the last day of summer and tomorrow the Autumnal Equinox.
Take Care,
Kaye
I love ‘puke administration’ Kaye!
Stay safe.
