9-17 butterfly bloom

This is the only photo I have for you, friends.

There’s been no time and I have no energy. I made it through the day yesterday on about 3 hours of sleep. I’m glad I went – the meeting was a good one – but it took every bit of energy I had to be coherent and articulate while sucking on cough drops, trying to thwart any annoying coughing fits.

I took an earlier bus so that I wouldn’t be late this time and even then, the trip was 2½ hours rather than 1½ hours. I usually don’t go in that early in the morning so I’m sure it was due to the morning rush hour. I left the bus station and walked the 14 blocks to the rehearsal studios where we had last week’s meeting. No one was there. After some texting back and forth, it turned out the meeting had been changed to another venue and I (along with another attendee) had not been informed of the change. That meant I had to walk another 24 blocks. I wasn’t a happy camper. But I shook it off when I finally arrived and we had a good and fruitful discussion.

I was well and truly fried by the end of the day.

But I got a good night’s sleep last night and that makes a world of difference. I’m still congested, still coughing, still under the weather, but I can see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks for all the great comments on yesterday’s post. I usually come home and reply to each and every one of them, but I was so exhausted that I simply couldn’t do it. Know that I read and enjoyed them. I wrote about the whole thing because I found it shady and deceptive and I wanted to alert any other potential readers who might make the same mistake I did.

More tomorrow when, hopefully, I’ll be feeling a lot better. Cross your fingers.

There’s a book review on Just Let Me Finish This Page today. I’m reviewing Dishing the Dirt  by M.C. Beaton. Click here.

Happy Thursday.

All that walking when you’re sick…I’m exhausted just reading about it. Hope you get some rest and are feeling better soon, Claudia! Oh…I’ve been fooled more than once into buying a reprint…

I will have to take a magnifying glass next time I near a magazine rack, Linda!

Gee Claudia, maybe you’ve stumbled a drug-free cure for insomnia there. LOL. “Just be sure walking 38 blocks a day, even one way, is part of YOUR day, and you’ll drop off to a sound, recuperative sleep in no time…” Thank God you had exquisite weather at least. And get well soon. PS – hope you’re trying the honey [you don’t need a lot, but consistency is key]. ?

The weather was beautiful but, to be perfectly honest, I wasn’t all that aware of it!

I am wondering if perhaps all that walking began pumping the virus right out of your system. Since I have been suffering from the same bug you have, I think that instead of crashing on the sofa all day, I might try taking a walk around the block and see if I can extend it. If Bentley should happen to be reading this, you know he will vote YES! Glad you are feeling better.

I hope you’re right about that, Susan. Maybe it’s finally leaving? Feel better and give Bentley a hug from me!

I’m glad yesterday went well…although walking 14, then 24 blocks would have done me in for sure! Hope you can really relax today…you’ve earned it! ;)

A good nights sleep and rest today should help. Read a book (of course).

Oh my Claudia…My feet would have ached so bad…Don’t you worry about answering comments when you are not feeling well…we ladies all know that you will answer anytime that you can…I know I would much rather you rest than force yourself to stay up and write…You listen to Don and rest now…

I’ve been cleaning because we have a friend visiting on Sunday. But I’ve stopped for the day. Don will have my head, but there’s a lot to clean before Sunday morning!

Oh, Claudia! I am not sick, and if I had walked 38 blocks I wouldn’t be able to stand up today. Maybe you did walk it out!!
Hope your day is a more restful one today and that you will feel much better tomorrow.

I like walking and walking in the city usually makes me very happy – but it was a struggle yesterday!

I could have never walked that far – even well! Take care of yourself.

It was a struggle, but only because I’m sick and I was coughing a lot. Glad that’s over for a while!

I’m dealing with parental health issues, so can’t keep up with your posts…:(

Hope you’re feeling better and taking care of yourself. I miss reading your posts regularly, but my parents don’t have Internet.

What a staggering amount of walking, especially when you weren’t feeling well!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
