Pippa and my planners.
I give you a little Blythe content today because I’ve not posted about the girls in a while. Nevertheless, they’re still having adventures – how could they not? Sunday morning found me relieving the girls of their Christmas sweaters after hearing numerous complaints that they were a) too hot and b) they were sick of them. I’ll show you a couple of the changeovers today.
Olivia is now in a sweater dress. (I would like something like this.)
Madeleine is in one of my favorite dresses.
My goal was to find them something to go with the tights/socks and shoes they already had on so I didn’t have to open another suitcase full of accessories.
Zoe requested another sweater.
I’ll share a few more tomorrow. I only had 7 Christmas sweaters, so not all of the girls got to wear one.
Let’s see: real life. Not a lot going on. If you remember, I was so sleep deprived yesterday that I was barely functioning. But I got a solid one hour nap in yesterday afternoon while sitting in this chair and that made a big difference in the tone of my day. Thank goodness.
I should receive my copy of War and Peace today. I’m looking forward to reading the first three chapters. I’m still reading Desert Star by Michael Connelly. I’m trying to finish reading those books I have to return to the library as I begin my work on Darko’s project next Wednesday. I work four days next week and two days the following week and the days will be very, very long when you throw in the commute. I’ll be up at 5 am every day and I probably won’t get home until 9 pm. It’s the kind of schedule I couldn’t maintain over a long period of time unless I was staying in the city, but for 6 days I can handle it. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to post. I’ll just have to wait and see.
Anyway, the books will be due during the time I’m in the city. I suppose I could always send Don to the library to return them. I’ll just have to keep track of due dates in my planner.
It’s a rainy day today and it looks like the rest of the week will also be rainy. Sigh.
Stay safe.
Happy Tuesday.

Have a good day resting up
Claudia says
Thank you, Brenda.
Stay safe.
Brendab says
I might read W and P just to remember what you wrote about if you do
It is on Gutenberg so I can read on iPad
Excited for you
The group is fortunate to have you my friend
Claudia says
Well, I don’t know how much I’ll contribute. I’ll probably just observe.

I never read War and Peace, though I did buy a copy at a secondhand shop, intending to read it. When life turned upsidedown a couple of years ago and we packed up the essentials to sell the lake house, War and Peace was left behind in the big bookcase with most of the books that had escaped our first downsizing. I wonder how many downsizings will happen in my lifetime? I ain’t done yet! Now reading: The Warmth of Other Suns on my laptop.
Claudia says
Don loved The Warmth of Other Suns!
Stay safe, Shanna.

darling outfits on the girls. i’d like all the sweaters. i’d like all the rain, too. :)
glad you felt better after that nap and have books you enjoy. i applaud your participation in the “war and peace” read-along, especially when reading other books and working long days in the next couple of weeks. glad you have all those things to look forward to (important).
working on some big and little projects around here (organizing, knitting, making things for every household in my family, walking, trying to read/write/paint more …). grateful to be able to spend time with members of my family every day. :)
best i get going.
hope you, don and everyone else have a great day … nice and easy. and safe.
kathy

Thanks, Kathy.
Stay safe.

Such sweet girls! I would love a fox sweater.
Pussy willows are out and forsythia is budding. Not good says the gardener!
In other NW CT news, something ripped one of the screens off the screen porch. The bird feeders are all intact so I don’t think it was a bear. Possibly a raccoon but I didn’t see any prints in the mud. I’m puzzled and my husband ,the fixer of all things, is annoyed. He’s also bummed because our solar panels cannot make electricity without the sun and it’s been so dreary. Just have to wait for this weather pattern to get pushed south.
Claudia says
We have rain for the next four days, I think. It’s awfully dark and dreary out there!
Stay safe, Betsy.
Elaine in Toronto says
Such cute outfits for the girls. Love that sweater dress on Pippa. Enjoy your reading day. Are you working on a jigsaw puzzle in the new year? I’m off to write important dates and events in my new calendar so I can hang it up. Hugs, Elaine
Elaine in Toronto says
Sorry, on Olivia. They all look cute! Hugs, Elaine

I’m taking a break from jigsaw puzzles. I’m not motivated to start another one right now, probably because I’m reading a lot.
Stay safe, Elaine.

And the girls all look adorable!
Claudia says
They are awfully cute!
Stay safe, Jeanie.

I love that sweater dress. The girls have such cute clothes and accessories. Nothing much going on here. Blah weather and I’ve been having tummy issues for a few days. I think I’ll be better tomorrow, or so I hope. Reading helps me relax and rest up. hugs!
Claudia says
Feel better, my friend!
Stay safe.
jan says
yes, enjoy your books. I just can’t seem to be able to settle enough to read. I would like to. I have been browsing cookbooks though. But then the recipe is usually so overdone that zi do not want to cook it.
Claudia says
Browsing cookbooks is always enjoyable, Jan.
Stay safe.
Barrie says
Those girls have the cutest clothes…. I’d love their wardrobe for myself! I sure don’t envy your early/late schedule, but you’re right, for six days, it’s doable! Take care!
Claudia says
I’m sort of dreading it. I’ll just have to take a deep breath and jump in.
Stay safe, Barrie.
