74 degrees here yesterday. Both Don and I said it was too warm. (Not to mention spooky in this time of climate change.) Tomorrow will be considerably cooler.
I watched Singing in the Rain yesterday which never fails to make me smile. Though it was poignant, having just lost Debbie Reynolds. This morning I’m going to watch Stagecoach – one of my favorite movies. TCM viewers: is this the first time TCM has done 31 Days of Oscar with the movies airing in alphabetical order? I’m thinking it is, but I might be wrong.
We chatted with Little Z last night, who always makes me laugh. That boy is destined to direct people in some way: “Aunt Claudia, you say this. Uncle Don, you say that. No. Not Aunt Claudia, just Uncle Don. No. Not Uncle Don, just Aunt Claudia.”
I recognize this, as I was much the same when I was a kid. You go, Little Z!
Happy Saturday.
Happy Saturday to you, too! Your living space looks wonderfully inviting, I’d happily sit there for an afternoon. x
Thank you, Christina!
Charming photo!
Thank you, Carolyn Marie!
I hope you are feeling better! Of course Little Z makes all of us feel better. I had dinner last night with the whole family for Sara’s birthday. Scout climbed out of her high chair and kind of ‘threw’ herself at me and when I grabbed her, she said to me ‘I got you’…I love this little one so much. Tiger was all excited about his trip last weekend with his Dad to Daytona to see the races and his favorite driver won. When we are having this horrible political environment which angers me so much, seeing these sweet children make me so happy and even more determined to save our country for them!! Fight on!
I agree. I want our world to be joyful and inclusive for everyone – especially the young ones!
Such pretty light at your place this morning. Crazy weather, but I guess warm crazy is better than blizzard crazy. Hope you’re feeling better and can enjoy it for the weekend. Thanks for a glimpse of the cottage.
We just had a major thunderstorm. In February. (Shaking my head.)
Your home just oozes charm! I could happily sit there and chat. 74…nice, but yet a little freaky. We really don’t know what our new weather reality is now, do we? Yes….the golf courses were open around here…not today though, ice and now about 2 inches of snow. Guess spring will get here permanently when it gets here. We had a nice evening with our 3 sons last night….but it went by too quickly! But, we have Isle of Man to look forward to in June…when we will be all together for a week or so! Yeah!! Always fun to hear about Little Z….what a charmer! I haven’t seen Singing in the Rain in years….think I need to do that! Enjoy your Saturday….take it you are feeling better? ;)
So glad you had a lovely time with your sons. Feeling better – slowly, but surely. It’s the coughing at night and lack of sleep from that that’s wearing me down.
I hope you are feeling at least a little better, Claudia! I’m happy to share some of last night’s snow with you and Don if you’d like to cool off a little! ;-)
A little. From what I’ve heard about this virus, the coughing hangs on for a while and that’s the case here.
Happy Saturday, my friend. Our very warm weather has given way to more seasonable temps today. I must say I am more a fan of the warmth, but I worry about what climate change is doing to our planet. xo Laura
We just had a major thunderstorm – actually, it’s still going on – in February!
As always, your house looks so inviting and cheerful. We have had such a warm February. So very unnatural. Some of my hostas are already up! I worry we are going to have some much colder weather and everything will be frost-bitten back. I guess there is no sense in worrying about it. And we are already 2″ behind in rainfall — and it is only the second month of the year. We have gotten rain but it seems to be more like sprinkles instead of the soaking rains we need.I certainly hope you are feeling much better and continue to improve each day.
I worry about that sort of thing, too. I don’t want to see tender new plants blighted by frost!
Those near 70* temps of just a few days ago seem not so recent now with the ice and snow we have again. Craziness. At least we do have sunshine this morning.
Hope you are feeling better today!
We are in the middle of a huge thunderstorm, Chris. In February – very strange.
Slowly getting better.
I hope you are beginning to feel better. Your home looks bright and airy although it sounds a little bit warmer than it should do for this time of the year. I do enjoy Stagecoach, what a great film that was. Fiona x
Love that movie, Fiona!
Hope you’re feeling better!
Slowly but surely. If I could just sleep through the night, it would make all the difference in the world!
I love Little Z stories…. that makes me smile!!
He is the best.
I have been enjoying TCM’s 31 days! Last night, I watched “The Sandpiper” with Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton; I’m recording the films like crazy. I’m so grateful they do commercial-free programming. You just don’t get that lower down on the cable dial.
Your home is so inviting. I notice things, like how the black frame of the art above the black freestanding stove/oven in the kitchen is easy on the eye.
What were you eating the other day? Carrot rounds in a bowl, or was that sweet potato or butternut squash or what?
I’m assuming you’re feeling better today; hooray!
Hmmm…in another photo? I’ll have to check.
Feeling slightly better. It’s the coughing that wakes me up at night and then keeps me from going back to sleep that’s making me feel tired. A good night’s sleep would be most welcome.
(If you mean in the white bowl, that’s not food! They’re MahJongg tiles!)
My eyes play tricks on me, especially if I’m rushed. Looked like a utensil (it’s a leaf!) in a bowl with carrot rounds. MahJongg tiles; how funny! I need to slow down…
xoxo
Sounds like you are maybe feeling better??? Hope so.
Love,
Judy
A bit better, Judy!
Lovely photo of your house! It looks so cozy. Hope today finds you feeling better and that tonight you’ll sleep the whole night through. Hugs!
I slept much better. Of course, I woke up coughing a lot, but this time I was able to go back to sleep!
Too warm (IN FEB) and then too cold again tonight…crazy…I am definitely worried about the climate change…I can’t wait until you visit Little Z and take lots of pictures again…maybe you could take a little video of him so we could hear him talking and being silly as boys that age do…
He has the sweetest voice, Nancy. It would depend on Mere. I know she’s careful how much she puts out there about him.
