Scenes from a Monday Morning

January 3, 2011 at 12:20 pm by Claudia

A few views of my husband’s studio, which also functions as a guest bedroom:

We moved the bed and threw a quilt I made on top of the white matelasse bedspread. This quilt was used as a wall hanging in the cottage we rented when we first moved east. It’s made of batiks and I love, love the intense colors.

More quilts stacked in a wicker basket. This little armoire functions as our linen closet (sadly, older homes lack closet space.)

Guitars. There is also a mandolin – it’s just not in the photo.  Also not in the photo: speakers, our green farmhouse table, the desk and computer and a chair. Maybe in another post?

Heidi’s daughters gave me these for Christmas:

Do you think they know my favorite color?

My sneaky, wonderful sister sent me this:

Our obsession scarf. She used the most beautiful shades of gray. I love it. Thank you, Meredith. Actually, Meredith Letitia. So it is sort of perfect that the scarf is being modeled on Letitia, don’t you think?

Have a great Monday!

    Claudia,

Love the quilt. Batiks are favorites of mine as well. Still have not restarted scarf. I seem to make a 90degree turn and I lose the shape!!!!

I’m a huge lover of batiks, Claudia, so I particularly love the quilt. And the napkins and scarf are both lovely. Wonderful gifts!

I love the scarf. I just helped young Miss Hitt choose a gray yarn to crochet a scarf for my son. He looks so nice wearing gray.

Your quilt is truly lovely Claudia. I had forgotten that you used to make quilts. They take so much patience. I wish I had that sort of patience, but I don’t.

Happy New Year Claudia! Beautiful vintage napkins. Can you tell me again where you found the pattern for that scarf? I want to see if I can get my Mom or Nana to whip one out for me. The style is fabulous!
I am glad Riley is feeling better, it’s so scary when our babies are sick and helpless. I have a Pomeranian that hates to be brushed and when she blows her coat she’s a mess. I think her brushed out fur would make the softest scarf!

Yes, like you, we too are short on space for storage- and of course an armoire is always a saving grace! Now I’m in the mood for organizing and getting rid of stuff (this always happens after the hols.) so today I’m away to do my best, but it’s so hard to decide what to keep and what to discard!

Lovely scarf – I’ve a closet full of grey clothes in all shades – it’s my new black because I’ve decided age and black becomes very dreary, except for basic pants during the day wth a cashmere cardi. thrown around chilly shoulders, and velvet for theatre nights!!! I swear I have more black tees than anyone on the planet – and I’m tired of them!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
