Senseless

December 15, 2025 at 8:41 am by Claudia

I will briefly address the events of the weekend. A mass shooting at Brown University. A mass shooting at a Hannukah celebration at Bondi Beach in Australia. And then, late last night, the news of the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. It’s too much, too heartbreaking, too senseless. The loss is enormous.

There has been speculation about Reiner’s son, who has had serious mental health issues. But we don’t know anything for sure, except that the Reiners experienced a brutal knife attack .

Just last week, a man I worked with – Jubilant Sykes – was murdered by his son, who also used a knife.

It’s too much. The antisemitism, the damn guns, all of it.

I can’t take it all in this morning. It’s too much. I can only pray.

______________________________________________

In what must seem like a 180° turn, I’ll post a couple of photos.

Snow fell overnight on Saturday into yesterday morning. It’s pretty out there. Don did most of the shoveling because it was just a few inches – not worth using the snowblower.

Miyoshi gets her chance to wear the Queen for the Day crown.

Maybe she’ll bring a little smile to your face this morning.

Stay safe.

Happy Monday.

I feel like I can’t handle anymore devastating news. Just heartbreaking. My life is so quiet and peaceful but the rest of the world is scary and so sad that it is hard to enjoy my blessings.

All so senseless. The terror those people must have experienced. It’s so heartbreaking. The mental health in our country and maybe now in the world is really bad. I pray people find peace and comfort in their lives. I feel like i know what has contributed to it all but how to change is all back is very hard.

I’m especially sorry about your friend but actually for the whole, wretched mess our world is right now. The Reiner thing, the aftermath, tragic. But so, too, are the other shootings. College kids not returning home for holiday break; many slain because their religion didn’t synch up with another’s. It IS overwhelming.

    (So is your snow!)

    Enough is enough.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
