I will briefly address the events of the weekend. A mass shooting at Brown University. A mass shooting at a Hannukah celebration at Bondi Beach in Australia. And then, late last night, the news of the murder of Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner. It’s too much, too heartbreaking, too senseless. The loss is enormous.
There has been speculation about Reiner’s son, who has had serious mental health issues. But we don’t know anything for sure, except that the Reiners experienced a brutal knife attack .
Just last week, a man I worked with – Jubilant Sykes – was murdered by his son, who also used a knife.
It’s too much. The antisemitism, the damn guns, all of it.
I can’t take it all in this morning. It’s too much. I can only pray.

In what must seem like a 180° turn, I’ll post a couple of photos.

Snow fell overnight on Saturday into yesterday morning. It’s pretty out there. Don did most of the shoveling because it was just a few inches – not worth using the snowblower.

Miyoshi gets her chance to wear the Queen for the Day crown.
Maybe she’ll bring a little smile to your face this morning.
Stay safe.
Happy Monday.

One tragedy after another. It’s so sad.
Stay safe, Claudia.
Thank you, Ellen.
Stay safe.
Yes, it was a horrid weekend of devastating news… I said a lot of prayers this weekend. Take care, my friend. Dawn P. Albany GA
You, too, Dawn.
Stay safe.
I feel like I can’t handle anymore devastating news. Just heartbreaking. My life is so quiet and peaceful but the rest of the world is scary and so sad that it is hard to enjoy my blessings.
So true. I feel the same way, Kay.
Stay safe.
Ditto for what Kay wrote.
I pray the world figures our how to be a better place for future generations.
Yes.
Thank you, Betsy.
Stay safe.
It’s sad news all around the world. I pray for peace.
As do I.
Stay safe, Leslie.
All so senseless. The terror those people must have experienced. It’s so heartbreaking. The mental health in our country and maybe now in the world is really bad. I pray people find peace and comfort in their lives. I feel like i know what has contributed to it all but how to change is all back is very hard.
It is. I have no wise answers on that issue.
Stay safe, Darlene.
sad, sad, sad news about 100% completely unnecessary suffering and loss.
think there’s a few of rob reiner’s movies here on dvd. “when harry met sally”, for sure. will watch what we have and say more prayers.
thanks for including (as you always do) photos of cuteness and nature’s beauty today.
stay safe, everyone.
kathy
Thank you, Kathy.
Stay safe.
It’s getting harder and harder not to lose faith, but I will keep praying.
Thank you for always posting your beautiful pictures. Looking at the snow picture, I can feel the peace and quiet of it. Sending many blessings to you and Don and I hope you both have a wonderful Christmas.
Thank you so much, Cathy. I wish the same for you and yours.
Stay safe.
Praying with you, Claudia. Your pictures help to bring calm. Hugs, Elaine
Thank you, Elaine.
Pockets of calm are very much needed.
Stay safe.
I’m especially sorry about your friend but actually for the whole, wretched mess our world is right now. The Reiner thing, the aftermath, tragic. But so, too, are the other shootings. College kids not returning home for holiday break; many slain because their religion didn’t synch up with another’s. It IS overwhelming.
(So is your snow!)
Enough is enough.
It is heartbreaking.
Thanks so much, Jeanie.
Stay safe.
Heartbreaking is the right word.
Looking forward to more pictures of the real tree.
Thanks Lynda.
Stay safe.
