Ah. I can’t tell you how happy this makes me. The last few days have been sunny and (relatively) warm. The massive yard and garden clean-up has begun. The first thing I do is look for signs of life, camera in hand. Raking the winter cover of leaves reveals little miracles. They are there – peeking out of the ground, buds emerging on bushes like my little lilac. Every year I am amazed at the rebirth of the garden, the grass and the trees. Small signs; but they give me hope after a long winter.
Square #12:
My version of a shabby chic chair…..
We’re in for 4 days of heavy rain. The sunny days are leaving for a bit but the temperature each day is getting warmer. I have a lot to do outside before I leave for San Diego. A lot.
Have a great day.
yes indeed, things are beginning to peek out after their long winter slumber! I get so exctited when I see those first signs of spring!!!
Guess we need the rain to clean up after winter. Love the look of your blog very nice.
Those are the kind of signs of Spring I love to see. May they grow and bloom and bring you much joy.
Ah, signs of new life . . . . makes me smile!
Your shabby chic chair is darling!
Have a great day!

LOVE your little blue glasses!! That was a clever square! I’m having so much fun following along with the 39 squares! I think I will start this with my daughter when she comes home from college for the summer!
Linda
I would love rain, too. Melt my (dirty)snow!
Following along on your squares. All so cute.
Hi Claudia,
Your squares are really coming along. The chair is ever so cute. By the way, I’m using the white hankie you sent me on the Tussie Mussie I’m making for the swap. I’ll send you pictures.
Hugs,
Meri
I can finally see the brown grass and all the mud here in Minnesota(it’s been raining all week) but no little buds yet-I’m loving yours!! Maybe if we get some sun after all this rain. I love the little chair square!!
Your chair is darling! I love the images that you’ve been coming up with– so great!
Hugs,
Jill
Claudia, that chair is so cute! And I’m hoping that our poor grass will return. Florida grass is funny when it’s not used to being frozen three times for long periods and when it was sick before. I hope.
If you get a chance, pop over to see my leprechauns. I want you to see the mugs because I think you would get a kick out of them.
Just want you to know that I will be MIA for the next two weeks because I’ll be getting ready for Claudie’s visit (major cleaning) and then the visit itself. Wish you could be here to play with us, Claudia. Several Pinkies will be. Please don’t forget me while I’m gone…
XO,
Sheila :-)
OHHHH!!!!! Happy Happy!!! I love the new signs of life, whoohoo!! I saw my first robin today and was over the moon :)
The shabby chair is sooooo cute!! LOVE this!
Hugs,
Amy
Hi Claudia~
Thanks for stopping by! Oh I think your squares are just great! I love your teal glasses, too cool!
Your pups are gorgeous. They really deserve the very best don’t they? We love ours (Lola & Butch) a ton, they’re our kids :o)
Have a great weekend!
~Lisa
the shabby chair stiching is wonderful.
How lovely to see some signs of life. We’ve had a cooler than normal winter but things are coming up now.
Just wish they’d hurry up and bloom so I can see what all these mystery plants I have in my garden are :-)
After seeing your post I took a walk around my garden. Our snow is melting but not many signs of spring yet here in western NY. I love your shabby chic chair.
Hi Claudia,
Love those signs of life! I read that freezing temps yield more blooms on lilac bushes. I hope so.
Have a nice rainy weekend,
beth
p.s. – I like the new look of your blog!
that chair is too cute! Those squares are so you. Christie
Have I mentioned that I love your stitches? That little chair is darling. Gotta love the signs of spring!

Hi Claudia: Love your new square. I am so grateful for Spring and new life! Blessings, Martha
Now how long did you say you’d be gone? You can email if you want on that one. You’re doing great with these squares! I’m glad to know I’m not the only one out there with a stick softly moving things around in the dirt looking for green life! And your new banner is lovely, Claudia. I’m playing catch-up now on my blog reading. (Thanks for the sweet comment. Brought tears to my eyes.)
Brenda
Oh it makes me kind of sad to think you’ll be in San Diego and miss the best time of the year back home with your loved ones.
Love your squares!
Kathy
My irises and other plants are beginning to come up too and I’m so excited! It’s been a long, harsh winter around here. Loving the embroidery.
Jody
Claudia,
first I have to say I love the new look! Great background and header.
How sweet you found some green peaking out. The rain you are expecting will help it all along. I love your sewing basket too. You are such a busy girl. I see you have gotten more squares done. How many will there be?
Thank you for your kind words on my post.
Blessings always!
Gwen
I am seeing green things popping up through the ground all over too! Can’t wait for Spring!
