I just can’t.
I’ve captioned this “Sisters in Sweaters.”
You can see the difference in body size in this photo. Holly has the standard body that comes with Blythes and Mei as an OB22 body. OB22s are more flexible, and much lighter in weight. That’s the body she came with. I have a mix of bodies on my girls, simply because I usually am fine with whatever body they have. There are plusses and minuses with both sizes. The only body I may change out someday is Olivia’s. It’s a licca body, which makes it even tinier than Mei’s. What drives me nuts about it is the fact that the legs don’t bend, so I’m limited when it comes to posing her.
But otherwise, I like the variety in height. It somehow makes them more realistic.
Okay.
Snow today. It’s already started falling but just barely. We woke up to a light dusting on the cars and the roof. We’ll get anywhere from 3 – 6 inches. I’m betting on 5 inches. We’re actually looking forward to watching it fall during the day. A little Christmas music in the background and some apple pie baking in the oven? Perfect.
Plus, the snowblower is working beautifully and I cleared off the rest of the porch yesterday. There were several pots I needed to empty and I stored them in the shed – which is so organized it makes me smile.. The cushions were brought inside, as well as my two stone doves. The Adirondack chairs were folded and stored in the shed. All of the chairs we use in the secret garden and on the funky patio are now on the porch. Don helped carry the two remaining vintage pots that were in the secret garden (they’re quite heavy and my back was complaining) onto the porch. Bags of salt leftover from last year are at the ready.
Now, we can sit back and enjoy the snow, knowing we don’t have to be anywhere today.
I’ve started the new Anthony Horowitz and I reserved the most recent Mick Herron from our library system. Miraculously, there was no one in the queue so I should received it next week sometime. Suddenly, I have a few books that have actual due dates, so I’d better get cracking.
Stay safe.
Happy Sunday.

Love the sweaters on the girls. Snow is so pretty when its not too much. We usually get at least one snow here in GA and the Grands are always so happy. Tree lights are on and I’m drinking coffee snuggling with my cat. It’s a good morning!
Claudia says
A very nice day today!
Stay safe, Linda.

Your dolls are cute…and technical, too, with all the body types, etc. They look darling in their winter sweaters!
Nice to have all the chores done so you can enjoy the snow from inside….with apple pie, maybe! Sounds like a very nice Sunday!
We’re having a very wet weekend, so I’ll be inside, too! Stay warm!
Claudia says
Enjoy your time inside, Barrie!
Stay safe.

Don sometimes reads a lot and at others – like now – he doesn’t read books at all. He’s very busy with his music and that’s where his energy is going. So I know he doesn’t have any recommendations at the moment, Kathy.
Stay safe.
kathy in iowa says
i understand … there’s only so much time and energy in each day! thanks.
and go, don, go with your music!

The sweaters look so cute on your girls. I didn’t realize there were so many different bodies but I agree it makes them more realistic.
Your Sunday sounds perfect. I must get moving and make frosting for sugar cookies. I have two granddaughters coming over for our annual cookie decorating.
Happy Sunday
Claudia says
Have fun with your granddaughters, Marilyn!
Stay safe.

Such adorable sisters! The sweaters are fabulous.
We have been preparing for the snow all morning. Hasn’t started yet and I haven’t listened to the snow estimates so it will be a surprise. I’m guessing 4″, my husband says 6″; we shall see! I love the first snow…
Claudia says
I’m going for 5 inches. But right now, it’s pretty wet snow. It’s sticking to the grass and trees, etc. But the streets are still clear because it’s not sticking to the pavement. I’m sure that will change as it gets colder.
Stay safe, Betsy!

Love the sweaters……Claudia do you suppose Don would share his apple pie recipe with us? I might give it a try if it is not TOO difficult.
Stay safe and snug…..I can almost smell the pie in the oven.
Maria
Claudia says
We did share it a couple of months ago, Maria. I’ll see if I can find the post, but in the meantime, just search for ‘sugar-free apple pie’ in the search box.
Stay safe.

I am happy your snow blower is back and that it is working well. It good to have a good repair person and Don found one.
I think your girls need skis.

Well, I have to take some credit. I pointed him to a neighborhood site on FB where you can ask people who they recommend for anything and he posted about the snowblower and received more than a few positive comments about this business. And it’s only a couple of miles from us.
Stay safe, Kaye.

The girls look so cozy in their winter woolens.
I thought the snowblower was too heavy for you (risking more backache/injury). I’m confused; this is the same one but repaired? Or did you get a different one, lighter-weight and I’m simply/scarily forgetful. I’m thinking it’s the first thought and you just had less to deal with than a whole-huge walkway (for the health of your back). Just glad you have something with snow on the way! I’ve never seen a snowblower in my life; have no idea what they look like or how they work (or how heavy they are).
Have a warm rest of the day indoors; glad you don’t have to be outside anywhere in that frigid weather.

My Midwest-raised husband says that shoveling snow is about the hardest thing EVER. I guess he’s remembering the days before there were snowblowers (just instead the big snowPLOWs)?

I wrote in detail about it a couple of months ago. We live on a little hill and our driveway slopes downward. A lot of snow accumulates at the bottom of the driveway. Don did some research and smaller snowblowers just can’t handle the weight and heft of that kind of snow. So we decided to keep what we have and get it tuned up and ready to go. And that’s what we did.
Stay safe.
Vicki says
I think I’ve been confusing this with the leaf blowers; the thing you just hold in your hand; sorry I’m so ignorant about what kind of ‘tool’/equipment it is, but you got my curiosity up, so I was just now looking at some snowblower tips/types at Lowe’s. Looks like you push them and they throw the snow from side to side. Self-propelled? Looks heavy, like our ancient tiller (which was HEAVY to drag around when it wasn’t in dirt [and impossible to lift]). I’ll keep reading up on the subject! (Can you imagine me living in Wisconsin or Michigan, which is what my husband has wanted to pull off for us, almost three years running? I’m a palm-tree/ocean-beach gal; I would have to have a BIG education to learn how to live safely and informatively in snow country.)

The girls are adorable! Those are the cutest sweaters — I love the colors, the pattern, everything!
How wonderful to have the productive “I accomplished something” feeling. You sound about as buttoned up for winter as you can be.
We had a bit of snow — a covering — but it’s gone now. Which is fine with me. I could use a another few days without having to contend with it and then onward, whatever it brings. Our Christmas plans are in total freefall as of last night when Rick’s brothers told him their mom was coming to our place for Christmas — she didn’t mention it to Rick. And the kids had to change Christmas-with-the-Grands dates. But I’m faring better than I was last week, and so onward we cope. One day at a time!
Claudia says
Oh boy! I guess you have to move into ‘mom’ mode!
Are you feeling better, Jeanie? Were you sick?
Stay safe.
jeanie says
Yup. It’s always something! I’m trying to get done what I can outside the house before the winter storm coming east hits (or not — these days, who can tell).
My MRSA seems to have been beat into submission, so that’s much better and off the hardcore drugs, though I still think I’m having some effects from them. Right now the main problem is the back/leg/bursa pain. I’m almost through with a second course PT (stregthening, massage and traction) and still having enough issues it’s not great. But soldiering on. After the first of the year I’ll see the doc again about a cortisone shot in the bursa to see if that helps some, but part is arthritis, part sciatic and I doubt it will help much there. Just frustrating.
One day at a time, though! Today I am going to paint and I’m looking forward to that!
Cheers!
Claudia says
I’m sorry to hear this, Jeanie, and wish you a speedy and full recovery.
Enjoy painting today!
