Sleepy Sunday

February 12, 2012 at 1:41 pm by Claudia

This is how I feel today. Even though I’ve been up for a while, I feel groggy and sleepy. Coffee? Check. Some breakfast? Check. And I still feel out of it!

Ah well. There are days like that. Since it turned colder yesterday and is very windy today, I’m thinking it might be a flannel pajamas day. Anyone want to join me?

Some flowers to brighten your day:

I took this about a week ago. Unfortunately, the tulips have since left us. But the alstromeria is hanging in there.

Are you hanging around the house today, or do you have activities planned?

Hi Claudia! Over here, the sun is trying to shine. I’m wearing a nightgown, pajama bottoms, sneakers, elastic knee sox and a sweater. My hair is uncombed. Gee, I’m the very picture of glamour. Har! Har! Har! I went to Mass yesterday with my eldest granddaughter so I did not go today. The lady who sang and played the organ had the voice of an angel. It was so pleasant and uplifting to the soul to listen to her. We went to an English church because my granddaughter is English. Even though I’m French, all my granddaughters are English.

I just had lunch. Fish and chips with a roll and coleslaw. The usual after meals cup of tea which I am now happily sipping. Later on, I’ll have plain Activia yogurt with fresh blueberries. Am I making you hungry?

I read in my Bible for a few hours this morning. I’m going through the Book of Proverbs. So enlightening. Okay, I have to go. My daughter just called and she’s dropping by for a visit. So, I’ll go make her some lunch. Yes, I’ll comb my hair first and put on something quickly. Hi! Hi! Hi! I hope you can manage to have a nice day even though you’re feeling groggy. Maybe a walk with the dog?

Sundays are for lounging around sometimes. I am in my flannel nightie, very comfy. Kitty is on the bed, heating mattress pad on for her (she’s 17 and a bit fragile). She comfy but my electric bill is a bit higher. She’s worth it though. Daughter out shopping. I just had some cheese and am thinking about a bit of chocolate. Then, I guess I had better do a bit of cleaning before the Board of Health steps in! HA! Anyway, have a great day. A day for dreaming….. Blessings, Linda

I am a new blogger and a new follower! I have to tell you that I have the EXACT same PJs that you have and to top it off….I live in them whenever I can! I want to post your pajama button but can’t figure out how to do it without HTML. I’ll keep working on that because I have to have it. And maybe one of these days, I’ll model in them and post it!

    Hi Claudia –

It’s almost 2 PM and I’m still in PJ’s and robe because I WANT to be on this, the coldest day we’ve had all Winter! Ugly sticking out hair until time for a quick shower – I’ve been heading that way for the past 2 hrs. but got side-tracked into packing (and helping Bob pick his clothes too) for the upcoming Hawaii trip – sorry, but we were invited and someone has to go!

I just made us Havarti croissants for brunch!! Sun is out, but very cold, so we are not planning to go beyond the garden for wood and to fill the feeders. Building fire for tonight’s lovely Downton Abbey showing, and before that the Natl. Geo presentation on the Mississippi River. I do like Sundays like this – when it doesn’t require entertaining, shopping, appointments etc.

Here’s to life in pajamas, well at least on cold, Winter Sundays!
    Hugs – Mary

Yep just cleaning house. Trying to get all the laundry caught up as it is hard to start a week behind on things.

Just hanging around the house today in sweats, and no contacts, just my glasses. I’m catching up on laundry, paying bills and “putzin’ around.” Isn’t that what weekends in February are for?

I just loaded a big bunch of potted plants into the garage and on the back porch. Covered a lot of in ground plants with old sheets and tablecloths. Predicted freezing temperatures tonight here in the Orlando area. What a job that is!!! I do love my plants, though.

I’m in a giant sweat shirt and ripped up jeans. I had to go out twice today, and it is so chilly here. I have been hanging crochet flowers in my windows. Post tomorrow.
    Love you sister,

I was going to stay in my PJ’s and skip straightening up the house until I heard my son was going to pop in. I usually have weekdays to myself to lounge around in PJ’s, so on the weekends, I try to make a better example! lol!

Enjoy your Sunday! I hope you perk up a bit! :)

    XO,
    Jane

For a couple hours in the mornings, if we get up early enough, we read the paper, work the puzzles, drinking coffee and having some breakfast. Today was not one of those days. I had my g.daughter all weekend. We were taking her home today. So it’s busy just getting all her gear together.:):) Take care of yourself Claudia. Smiles, Susie(She Junks)

It is freezing here too so we are all staying in our jammies eating and watching movies.
I imagine there are many of us doing the same this Winter day!
    Blessings~

I spent friday and Saturday in my jammies. Today we took our granddaughters to see The Miracle. (Yep, after I just said that it was too expensive for us to do that) We don’t get to see them much in the winter and there isn’t alot to do in the cold. Our 8 year old loved the movie but the 6 year old fell asleep in Grampy’s arm. He didn’t know she was asleep and when the movie was over he stood her up. Poor thing was asleep and confused. We had a good time but complained to ourselves about the expense.
    Feel better.

I’m following Scout’s lead today. It’s a pajamas in front of the TV kind of day here. Rainy and gloomy, just don’t have a lick of energy.

Cold snowy Sunday. It is a pajama wearing, coffee drinking, laundry washing, fabric organizing, rice krispy square eating, book reading in a bubble bath kind of day….

    Hi Claudia,
I think we all deserve a lazy pajama-wearing day once in awhile…hope you enjoyed yours. I did manage to stay in the flannels until noon and then…cooked a turkey! Yup, we had a Valentine’s Thanksgiving…red and white on the table, Valentine candies, and turkey and the fixins’ to go with them. Talk about a mixed metaphor! But it’s back in the flannels now for some comfy time reading my favorite blogs…like yours.

    Hi Claudia,
I love the picture of your dog sleeping on the couch. It makes me think of my Marmalade. She was a great girl who came out of the farm field one day and stayed with us for almost fifteen years. She has been gone nine years and I still miss her.

What a sweet doggie photo!! I didn’t even need the flowers after that, but thanks anyway. :-) I love seeing a happy, relaxed dog.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
