Some Thoughts

January 10, 2026 at 9:23 am by Claudia

Lately, I’ve been drawn to moody photos. Maybe it’s the season. Maybe it’s the hellhole this country has become. There are a lot of photographers out there – I’m thinking of Instagram at the moment – who aren’t afraid to explore shadows and imperfections. I’m sort of tired of trying to edit every photo to make sure it’s bright and colorful. So be prepared for moody dolls and moody dollhouses and moody my house.

Like this Defa Lucy doll.

It’s been warmer here lately, with the temperatures in the low to mid-forties during the day. We’ve also had some rain. So the snow has melted quite a bit and the icy patches are all gone. Of course, this won’t last, but I’m grateful for a little ‘palette cleansing’ around here.

We are laying low as we struggle with this week’s heartbreaking execution of an innocent woman by a member of 🧊. I can’t find words right now for what our country has become, for the evil human beings working in the WH and throughout the government, so full of hatred and ignorance and self-loathing. It erodes their hearts, their minds, and their souls. Each and every one of them needs to be put on trial and tossed in prison for the rest of their pathetic lives. We need to rise up and stop them. Wiser minds than mine can figure out the how, but it has to be done.

Prayers for the removal of this administration. Prayers for all the innocent Americans who are being impacted by their policies. Prayers for our world.

Love you all.

Stay safe.

Happy Saturday.

I love the photo of the beautiful doll!
It’s very cloudy here today. Quite dreary. So strange that yesterday it was 22F in NW CT and today it’s 41F.
The birds are still gobbling down their seed. It is always a pleasure watching them dine on our 4 feeders!
No news articles for me today. Have a nice weekend.

It’s hard to feel anything but doom and gloom these days. Of course, we will rally but we may need a moment of rest. We cannot let them win and we will keep working to stop them even in little ways. Spread kindness, help others, speak up, read, learn and share what helps. We must all do our best whenever we can.
    Peace, Claudia

I can’t even comprehend how we got here. What has happened to our beautiful country? We did go out and peacefully protest in Phoenix. This administration thinks we have no eyes or ears. They all belong in jail. God Bless Renee.

I so understand your feelings. I feel the same way. I would like to sit down with a big pot of hot tea between us and see if we could maybe we could talk and feel a bit better. Probably not, but it would be a comfort. Love and hugs to you and Don.

I can certainly understand the sadness for our country. This weekend the Monks Walking for Peace came through Columbia, SC.
I was able to see them pass by too. There is still hope for us.

dear Claudia/Don — somehow, news reports grow more horrible every day — can this madness be stopped?? seems like no “official” has a clue — not congress, court systems. very sad to witness this erosion of our lives. can our country survive 3 more years of this dictatorlike crazy person??? Absolutely not sure — feels like a long, impossible task to me — sometimes it seems like a lonely undertaking — did the Patriots (Revere, Washington, etc) feel this way during the Revolutionay War?? Some how some way all of us have to gather that kind of strength to protect ourselves from these disasterous stupid puppets or as I say “a kissers”. Hope God is listening to our prayers. stay safe.healthy

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
