I’m running out of photos.
Mostly because I’ve been huddled under a heavy afghan all weekend because of the dangerously cold temperatures. I often joke and call it “Ice Station Zebra” after the movie, but this year, it IS Ice Station Zebra. My lord, it never seems to stop! Right now, at 9 am, the temperature is 3 degrees.
That being said, it will warm up a bit today and starting on Tuesday, the daytime temperatures will be above freezing for this week and next week. Whoever thought I’d be excited about a high of 34 degrees? Hopefully, some of this snow will start to melt. I’ve watched our deer struggle to walk through it and it breaks my heart. Enough, already.
We watched figure skating yesterday afternoon and then we watched the Super Bowl. Normally, we’re not into the Super Bowl, but of course, we wanted to see the halftime show with Bad Bunny. And we were rooting for the Seahawks. Bad Bunny’s performance was stunningly powerful. The level of detail in the sets and story telling was superb. What a statement: Love is more powerful than hate, inclusivity is who and what we are and should be, there is space for all of us in America. And all of that should be championed and applauded. It should be a given. I want to watch the whole thing again today because I know there are details I missed. I love how he walked with the flags of all the countries in “America” naming them one after another. Yes!
Thank you, Bad Bunny. You are amazing.
And hurrah for the Seahawks!
Truth be told, the television was on for hours yesterday and that’s not the case normally. We’re craving quiet today.
Stay safe.
Happy Monday,

We spent yesterday seeing a pro-company production of “Dial M for Murder” (which was very well done). Dinner out. Skipped the Super Bowl but watched the skating we missed in the afternoon before All Creatures and Bookish. When I say our weather is warming up, I mean it’s in the teens as the day goes on. So, a plus! I’d like to catch the halftime show — it’s probably on youtube somewhere.
I’ve coached that particular adaptation of Dial M for Murder. Not that production, but one at Geva Theater in Rochester, NY.
You absolutely should catch the halftime show and it’s on YouTube.
Stay safe, Jeanie.
Glad to hear you are finally going to warm up. 34 degrees is a heat wave after all that cold.
We all gathered yesterday to watch the game…but mostly the commercials and Bad Bunny. We all loved the halftime show…we loved all the performers. The messaging was spot on all around as far as we were concerned. Love is more powerful than hate!!
Enjoy the peace and quiet today! ;)
Loved that show!
Thanks, Donnamae.
Stay safe.

i worry about the animals and people, too.
missed the big game. friends in seattle are sure happy. i am, too … don’t like to see one team win the super bowl so many times. i want everyone to have the experience of winning at something close to their hearts. will try to watch the half-time show online.

Yes, they are.
