This little corner of the office is jam-packed with stuff. I frequently think I should come up with a different solution but, since our wall space is limited due to our attic-like space, there are only so many places you can hang something. The corner is sort of hidden away, anyway. I’m really the only person that can see it and that’s only when I’m sitting at my desk.
My mini pottery (I’ve run out of shelf space!) lanyards for various shows I’ve worked on and the Paul McCartney concert a few years back, a program from the Broadway production of Claudia Β way back when, embroidery by Shanna of our Scout. A bulletin board crammed with ticket stubs, boarding passes, pictures of Little Z and my parents, Don and I at the beach, the cast of Our Town, Jim Parsons and I in my classroom, thank you notes from various cast members, notes given to me on opening night of Anastasia. Don and I marching in NYC right after That Man was elected.
On the floor beneath that space are dollhouse supplies; wood, cardboard, foam board, large rulers, a quilting pressing board – that kind of thing.
When you have a tiny space for your office/creative space, every inch needs to be used!
The weather yesterday was insane. Snow, then sleet, then snow again, then rain. And today it’s going to be 64 degrees! What????
In my head, I’m very motivated – I want to tackle all sorts of chores. In my body, not so much. The weather hasn’t helped! It’s still too wet out there to do anything today, but perhaps I can finally get going tomorrow. I’ve been reading and trying to get into the Ian Rankin book. I like it, but I’m not crazy about it. That could be because I’ve been sporadic about my actual reading time lately, and maybe I just need to carve out a couple of hours and concentrate on the book, so I get a sense of the flow of the story.
More egg cups; this time with a chicks, roosters, chicken, and ducks theme:
Quick question: Janet ( a reader ) has mentioned that she is not getting my replies to her comments lately. Is this happening to anyone else? If it is, I’ll have to find another plugin. Please let me know!
Happy Saturday.

Hi Claudia,
I just finished a book you might enjoy, if you haven’t already: Paris By The Book, by Liam Callanan, who wrote Cloud Atlas (I couldn’t get into that).
Happy weekend!
Claudia says
I’ll check it out – thanks, Cara! Though, the author of Cloud Atlas (which I also couldn’t get into) was David Mitchell. I still have it on my shelf and I should donate it to the library!
Oh wait a minute. Liam wrote THE Cloud Atlas and Mitchell wrote Cloud Atlas.
Cara in S. FL says
Sorry: The Cloud Atlas. I misread the jacket, or else just assumed it was the same book. Maybe I’d like The Cloud Atlas!
Claudia says
Maybe I would, too!

I get that feeling you describe. All I want to do is read, needle felt or paint. Meanwhile, the house needs some love, Rick’s surgery is Monday and his space needs love, too, and today is a good day for a walk, which wouldn’t kill me about now! Some days are just like that.
I love the things in your space. I keep lokoing at my office, wondering what can really go, what creative project will I really never do again and even if I decide to do it, how much of the stuff I have do I really need or would use? I would love to lose or free up a bookshelf , which in turn would free up some wall space. First world problems. But this week they are getting to me!
Hope the rest of your weekend is a good one!
Claudia says
I understand! Thanks, Jeanie!

I’m getting your replies to my comments, Claudia, but it’s weird that my email on the iPad puts most of the replies in my inbox; I don’t know what happens to the rest of them, and email on my MacBook puts all your comments in junk! Anyway, I do receive all of them in one way or another.
Today, I’m going through school photos of my husband and me (we were in the same 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade classes so I have duplicate class photos), and of the children. I sorted most of them last night, and will mount them on acid-, lignin-free cardstock today and put them all in a binder I’ve covered with a school print fabric.
Claudia says
Thanks for letting me know. My MacBook puts so many things in Junk, many of which are NOT junk!
That’s a lovely project you have going, Wendy! xo

Love your collection of little egg cups. I’m now 85 and remember these being
a part of many breakfasts when I was young . Wishing I still had them and intend
to search some thrift stores hoping there are still some around.
Claudia says
Oh good! Yes, they were much more a part of my breakfasts when I was young. Thanks, Phyllis!
Vicki says
I never had them; had no awareness of egg cups or butter pats (all learned about here, on MHC!).
Claudia says
Thanks to my godparents, I had my very own egg cup. And my Canadian family roots; Canadians, at least when I was young, used egg cups.

I so enjoy looking at your stuff. My stuff contains cameras and lenses that are mostly black. I need to sell my wooden cameras soon. Yet, the wood used on these old cameras is gorgeous.
Do you ever break anything? I just know I would. I pray that the weather and your body play well together soon Claudia
Claudia says
Well, I have a lot of cameras and lenses, too! They’re just in a different place.
I occasionally break things, but it’s usually something like everyday dishes or glasses.

I love the collection of mini pottery and all the personal memorabilia. Makes it special just to you. I always get a reply to my comments unless I forget to check the little box. Happy Saturday.
Claudia says
Thanks for letting me know, Linda! xo
Kelly says
I never noticed the collection of teal pottery! Is it McCoy? Or different potters? And I have the egg cup on the right, the yellow chick in the half shell in front of the rest of the shell. It’s one I brought forward for the Easter/Spring season. Enjoy the wonderful weather tomorrow!
Claudia says
It’s McCoy. I have McCoy in all sorts of colors. Enjoy the weather, Kelly. It’s about time, right?
Kay says
Ha. I have a bulletin board in my craft room like the one you have – only mine is bigger. Sometimes I think I should clean it up. Then I think, “nah!” I’m the only one who sees what’s in that room (oldest son’s former bedroom, upstairs). We had no sun today, but no rain either. Dean even took his Harley out for the first time since last fall. Tomorrow it’s supposed to rain all day so I’ve already decided it will be a day for crafting. And reading.
I do see your replies to my comments.
Claudia says
We’re one day behind you. It’s going to rain on Monday, but today is beautiful! Thanks for letting me know about comments, Kay.

I just love that shelf that holds your mini pottery…and I love seeing the cute little man-in-the-moon pitcher that I sent you again…He always made me smile when I looked at him!
Claudia says
I thank you for that pitcher, Nancy. I love it!
Vicki says
Wow, your weather IS unreal. We were warmer today in SoCalif again; 80 degrees at 4:30pm; humid; lots of clouds yet sunny. Maybe yours will even out soon!
Claudia says
It’s been warmer yesterday and today – mid-sixties, which seems positively balmy to us!
Cindi Brumpton says
Claudia, I love how you say THAT Man …. itβs so polite and completely cracks me up. (I am Canadian, just to say.)
I cannot believe that the Claudia sign is a broadway play programme. I cannot believe that they were ever made that big!
The comment I want to make is sharing how I store my event tickets. I love purses and have I think 55. Whenever I go to an event, I put the ticket in a pocket of my purse. I check to see whatβs in the pockets and it is always a little walk down memory lane. I will also put items some as memorial cards from funerals too, plan tickets, etc.
Cindi
Claudia says
You should hear what I say about him here at home!
I love your way of storing your tickets! Such nice memories! Thank you, Cindi!
