The clematis is blooming. Strangely, most of the flowers this year are not on the street-side of the boxwoods, but are blooming on the porch-side. So I get to see them when I’m sitting on the porch. I guess they decided to give us a private viewing this year.
It’s sunny today. That is a big deal because most of the last week has been gray, rainy, windy, and cold. Even on days when no rain was forecast, there would be sudden showers coming out of nowhere. I am over it.
We have to mow today or tomorrow – most likely, tomorrow. So today I’m going to pull some of the many weeds that have sprung up from all the rain. Mostly, I just want to get outside. It’s been hard being house bound.
I hope you have a lovely day today, especially if you’re getting together with family and friends.
On this day, we remember those who lost their lives while serving our country. We honor them today and always.
It always seems ridiculous to say “Happy Memorial Day” when we remember what this day really means. So I won’t.
Stay safe.
Happy Monday.
A beautiful clematis and sunshine! That’s a pretty good day! I’m getting ready to put the flag out in honor of all who have lost their lives defending our country and making so much possible for us all.
Thank you, Barrie.
Stay safe.
It sounds like a wonderful day in store. Enjoy!
You, too, Jeanie.
Stay safe.
Have a quiet reflective Memorial Day, Claudia.
Thank you, Wendy.
Stay safe.
hope that, as i write this, you are outside enjoying weather that is to your liking and cooperates with your plans. and if not, that you get time for that later today and every day.
in some ways am having a usual day here for having fed earl and the birds, gone for a walk and to the cemetery with my sister … … … . i don’t have much energy (got less than three hours of sleep last night) so don’t know how much i can cross off my to-do list today. that will have to be okay. watched “captain phillips” last night (i know there might be some not-quite-right details in it compared to what actually happened, but i like that movie, and it is intense – even when i’ve watched it five or six times). maybe another movie is in order.
thinking extra today about my father and grandfathers who served in the army (korean war and ww1) and my grandmothers for their sacrifices, too, and thanking God for them all. also the rest of my family. and glad and grateful, too, for all who serve(d) and sacrifice(d) to make the world a better place. may God bless them all (i know He does).
may God bless you all, too (again, i know He does). stay safe.

Thank you, Kathy.

Memorial day for you yesterday. I know some stories of ww2 and my families in the Netherlands. Tough times. The Canadian soldiers so good to the Dutch. Mom remembered the big celebration parade and candy being thrown out liberally onto the street.
The king is in Ottawa. I watched it all morning yesterday. Our queen was such a good person.
On a somber note, I have no energy. I think I might be seriously aenimc. Mike was worried about me last night. I didn’t have my cell with me and I always sleep in my car. The grocery store was closing as I woke up.
Found out my kidney isn’t too good. I went to walkin as I’m still waiting to see my new doctor. What if it’s lupus as my doctor had wondered? He was actually the dr I saw. Slept all day Sunday, too tired even to make a meal. Miss my mom so much! Sorry for this spill.
I’m going to begin my journal. I’ve missed it so much.
My Mike is feeling and looking so well. So grateful the surgery and complications are behind us, and him particularly.
Have a really good day everyone.
I hope complete healing comes to you, Irene. Prayers.
Stay safe.
Thanks, Claudia. The dr is testing for a uti that may have gone to my kidneys. youre very sweet to think of me.
