It’s an awfully pretty time of year. The garden is in full bloom. Thanks to lots and lots and lots of rain this year, everything is a lush green.

Don was gone most of the morning yesterday. Later, we went out to run some errands and stopped at a neighbor’s barn sale. They live just down the road, I always see them from a distance, but when we stopped to check out what they had for sale, I realized the gentleman is someone I’ve seen and heard speak at our local meetings about the glamping resort (no updates on that at present.) Anyway, I had no idea he lived in that old farmhouse!

We got a few things – Don got a big old cowbell (cue SNL skit that never fails to make me laugh) and I bought two plant stands. I haven’t taken a picture of one of them yet but as to the other, when we were bringing things into the house, Don plopped it down near the living room chairs. I had planned to take it upstairs but it turns out it looks quite good right where it is.

$18. I’ll take it.

One of our errands was to explore a plant store in a neighboring town. Plant shops (not nurseries) are a rarity these days, and I wanted something a bit more unusual, so we stopped in. It was a beautiful shop and why the heck I didn’t take some pictures, I don’t know! The owner, by the way, said the reason you don’t see those shops very much is that plant suppliers only want to sell huge bulk shipments to places like Home Depot and Lowe’s. It’s hard to find suppliers for smaller shops.

I bought a couple of plants, plopped them inside a couple of the Guy Wolff pots and there you go.

There’s a car show in a neighboring town today. It’s the same town that has a neat antique shop, so we’ll have a nice little outing.

We watched Some Like It Hot  last night. I never tire of it. It’s brilliant.

Happy Sunday.

Your flowers are so pretty. The plant stand is really cute there!

We’re being lazy in the first sunny day we’ve had in many. Company’s gone and we’re feeling a tinge of Fall in the air…Noooooooooo! We’ve hardly had any Summer yet!

It was cool here last night and this morning, though it’s warmed up to the eighties.

The plant stand looks so great where it is. Those pots are perfect there. I got out for a bit yesterday and hope to also today. The heat is a bit better but still scorching. Enjoy your outing with Don. Hugs!

We had a nice time, but standing in the hot sun tired me out!

I really like the plant stand there. Fits so well into your cottage. Your flowers are beautiful…yeah for rain…but not too much! We’ve had too much rain…and as a result, too many weeds. Have fun at the car show! ;)

We have a lot of weeds as well. I’ve been yanking them all week long!

I woke up after 2 am with a fever…don’t know why or how high, as the thermometer needed a change of battery and I was too out of it to go downstairs to find a battery. Better this morning, but still feeling out of sorts. So, I’m vicariously going on fun outings (even errands) by reading about your day. There are so many fun places to explore in your area!

This one is pretty small, but the owner has lovely taste and it’s very attractive. I liked her a lot.

I’ve always loved having house plants…I guess I inherited it from my Mom…she always had so many and they seemed to grow so well for her…my plants love my kitchen window best so of course it is filled with them!…I want to try to keep some outside plants going on inside this year like you do Claudia so I think I should put them in more windows on that side of the house…May have to hang them though because of my plant chewer kitty Mr Chang…lol…love vintage plant stands…I have a couple of them here that you would probably like!…I I also love the way you and Don are continuing to have such fun together before you have to leave again!

House plants add so much beauty and warmth to a house. I have another stand that I got for $15. Whether it will stay in the house or go outside, I’m not sure!

We’re trying to think of our lives as an extended road trip!

It is such an excellent movie with amazing performances by everyone. I’m not usually a fan of Tony Curtis, but he’s fantastic in that role!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
