Sunday Morning at MHC

July 8, 2012 at 7:30 am by Claudia

Still sleep deprived.

I feel like it will take a week to catch up. Let the week begin now, please.

On this early, somewhat less hot Sunday morning, the sun is shining and the house is nicely quiet, except for the white noise of the air conditioner. Scout’s been up for a while, Riley is waking up. Don and I are sipping coffee. We’re taking a little drive this afternoon.

What are your plans for today?

Happy Sunday.

Oh, a Sunday drive..I love that. We use to do that growing up or when I would go home to see my Mom. My husband has a cousin he has never met before in town visiting, so they will be by today.

Claudia, Hope your drive is relaxing for both of you. I like when my house is quiet, real early in the morning. I plan on fixing a nice one pot meal and writing letters and reading…too hot still to go out for fun. Smiles, Susie

Sorry you’re still sleep deprived, but glad that you and Don are getting out later today. Enjoy your drive … Sunday drives are such a luxury … and one that I truly love.

Today is a quiet day here, with laundry and a bit of house cleaning to accomplish. I may get in the car later and go visit a friend that I haven’t seen in a while. I have lots to accomplish before we go out of town next weekend, and today is probably my last relaxing day till then.

I’m going to workout for an hour, then work on a dollhouse I’m building for a friend’s 2 girls. After that, I think my dog Mick and I will take an afternoon drive to Beavertail lighthouse in Jamestown, RI. Hope you, Don and the the dogs have a lovely day,

A drive sounds very nice. A nice quiet drive where you just lean your head against the window (if you don’t happen to be driving, that is) and let it sweep you away… Calgon, take me away. That was what I was thinking last night while Marley banged on a turned over bucket (the one I had magazines in) with kitchen utensils for drum sticks, for close to two hours. That’s a whole “nother” kind of tired…

Hi Claudia…It’s been a while since I visited. Life has been a little tumultuous as of late. This is the first post of yours that I have been able to read and will have to catch up and see what you have been up to. Enjoy your drive!~Hugs, Patti

    Dear Claudia,
I can tell you are not having relaxed hours in your home, and that poor Riley is having a very hard time- as you too, my friend.
I hope your tour with Don made you relax a bit, and gave you new strengh ,to what is coming.
    Warm hugs-

Claudia, a little drive sounds fantastic. You live in such a beautiful area. I wish my plans were so peaceful. I am totally reorganizing my Etsy shop storage bins and taking inventory so I can easily find things when they sell! Not fun, but I’m finding it necessary as I’ve sold a few thins in the recent past that I have not been able to find. I was certain I knew where they were, but nope. Luckily after searching for what seemed like hours I finally found the items, but it takes up too much valuable time to have to be doing that! I’d much rather be on a drive than organizing, I can tell you that! Have FUN!!… Donna

We went to Church then off to one of our favorite local bookstores. Honestly I Love it in there and could stay there all day. Have a great Day Claudia!

Hi Claudia ~ I’ve had a very relaxing Sunday. I have stayed home and puttered all day…making some new vignettes, cleaning the patio, watering plants, reading. Now I’m making dinner – pork tacos and mexican rice – hubby will be home from work in about an hour.

Hope you can get to bed early tonight and get some sleep!

I hope you enjoyed your drive, Claudia, and that it rejuvenated you. I find that seeing a good film at the movies usually perks me up when I feel down. Especially, a comedy. Perhaps you could try that. Or visiting friends with Don. It seems to me when I visit friends or a family member, I come home feeling so much better. Although I really don’t go out very often. The last and only time I was out this year was at my son’s for supper on Mother’s Day. That was my only outing of the year so far.

It was a wasted day for me today because I did nothing. Well, I did Sudoku puzzles. I have too many things that I want to do, need to do or think that I absolutely must do! I’m starting to feel like a jigsaw puzzle with the pieces all over the place. It seems that I can’t concentrate on anything for very long. I’ve purchased so many kits and bits and pieces to do this and that but all I do is look at them. I really need to crack the whip here. Of course, the heat has not helped. Although today was the ideal summer day. If only summer could always be like today.

I think I’ll go clean. That’s what I always end up doing when I feel frazzled. Dusting, polishing, vacuuming, sweeping, tidying up here and there. Take care. Keeping you in my prayers. It’s the only thing I can do to help you.

Hope your drive was peaceful. We drove to our home town to visit with my ill MIL. So sad.
Let me know when you start knitting again. I want one of those sweet banners. Still kicking myself for forgetting to order it.
Hope the doggies are doing okay.

We had a very welcome thunderstorm this afternoon and things are finally cooling off. Let the actual summer begin :)

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
