I was out and about yesterday looking for vintage ornaments, a couple to replace the ones I broke last year when we were decorating the tree, and some smaller ornaments for something that I’ll tell you about soon. Then I did some grocery shopping for Thanksgiving.
While I was scouring our local antique store for ornaments, I saw this:

A large 10″ vase in the Snowberry pattern. Roseville, of course. Just out of curiosity, I picked it up to see the price. $29.00. What??? That is a great price. I noticed the tag said As Is, but try as I might I couldn’t find anything wrong. Finally, I found a chip under the top rim. But that can be remedied by turning that side to the back. I wasn’t in the market for any more Roseville, but it was such a good deal. Except for the chip, it’s in perfect condition.
After I brought it home, I worried it was too tall for the shelves in the den china cabinet, but it fits. When it’s a sunnier day, I’ll take a picture of it on the shelf.
Don just went to the store to pick up our pumpkin pies. Yes, we got two.
Once that’s done, we’re locking down here at the cottage. No more errands. Tomorrow, a vegetarian Thanksgiving, with Gardein’s delicious “Turkey” Roast. Frankly, it tastes better than any turkey I’ve ever had. After taking a year or so off, I’ll be making Cloud Biscuits (Grandma’s recipe.)
I’m sure many of you are busy today prepping for tomorrow’s celebration.
We express our gratitude every day. Tomorrow, I’m going to give thanks for an end to this regime and a return to goodness, integrity and honesty. Why not? If we can see it, it will be.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone.
Stay safe.
Happy Wednesday.

I’m getting ready for Thanksgiving also. Today I will make the gluten-free, dairy free desserts and start on the gluten-free, dairy free stuffing. I do this for my daughter and it turns out well. I’m thankful for the blog friends I have made over the last several years. You all really help me stay connected now that I am retired.
Happy Thanksgiving, Ellen.

What a lovely piece of Roseville. I would not have been able to pass it up either. Wishing you and Don a lovely and relaxing Thanksgiving. I’ll be at my daughters with the Grands and getting my cup filled with love.
Have fun with your family, Linda.
Stay safe.
what a pretty find! plus ornaments, pumpkin pie, biscuits and a meal you like … i’m happy for you! hunker down and enjoy!
need to make a family-favorite bean salad for tomorrow at my brother’s, and take care of some stuff around here, but will have time to take it easy and that’s good, needed. had two “late” night things monday night and last night. the first was a 6 – 8 pm craft time at my church. nice people, but i don’t really enjoy knitting and talking with people at the same time (or being out in the dark). yesterday’s was getting things ready for the free thanksgiving meal my church serves free to the community. they do it every tuesday for about 200 people. last night they were expecting 300. working with food isn’t my favorite (not even on the list), but they were asking for helpers so my sister and i helped and that felt good.
best i get to the to-do list.
happy, safe thanksgiving to you, don and everyone else.

Thanks, Kathy.

what a great find on that vase! It’s beautiful.
Your Thanksgiving sounds perfect, have a happy one.
Thanks, Shanna. You, too.

Pleased you found a bargain! What would a Roseville vase like that regularly retail for?
Enjoy your Thanksgiving feast!
Years ago, it would have been two hundred dollars. Recently prices have gone down. I’d say at least $75.
Stay safe, Wendy.
Happy Thanksgiving, Claudia and Don. Enjoy those pumpkin pies! Hugs, Elaine
Thanks so much, Elaine.

Your pink Snowberry is wonderful and what a great price. I also buy pieces with a chip that can be turned around and pretty much hidden. We are eating out tomorrow! I did at least 25 years of dinner cooking and I declared it over. I did make a rather large apple pie today and it is not sugar free. It’s a treat! Happy Thanksgiving to you and Don.
Enjoy not having to cook, Judy!

I love your Roseville find! That’s a nice surprise! Enjoy your Thanksgiving feast! Lots of gratitude this year, but so many things to be hopeful about for the coming year!
Thanks, Barrie.

Hurrah! Good news!
Stay safe, Deb.
Happy Thanksgiving to you both!
Our Thanksgiving is small also but heartwarming.
Time to send out your recipe for cloud biscuits please.
Oh, I posted it long ago on the blog. Just go to the sidebar where you see Search and type in Cloud Biscuits.

That was an unbelievable price on that vase….glad you got it.
No prep for me this year. We are off tomorrow to our middle son’s and DIL’s home for Thanksgiving dinner, courtesy of my youngest son and his wife, who are our chauffeurs. It’s all about family….one for which I am eternally grateful.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and all your readers. Enjoy your day! ;)
Have a wonderful time, Donnamae.

Happy Thanksgiving, Claudia. It sounds like a perfect day.

Thanks for the Gardein ‘turkey’ tip. When I have a hankering for fish tacos, I enjoy their f’sh fillets. 😊
