The Bee’s Knees

October 7, 2019 at 9:31 am by Claudia

It’s definitely Fall. This morning’s photo comes with the added component of soggy, wet leaves which perfectly match the day ahead – 100% chance of rain. I think we’ll get rain off and on for the entire week.

Don’s headed into NYC for an audition this morning. He had a very good day yesterday at the Farmer’s Market. He loves his vintage camera and taking portraits. He’s such a people guy, so talking to people all day long – about the camera, about the special film he uses, asking them questions, getting them to pose in just the right way – is heaven. And he’s so good at it now; confident, understanding the light, just taking great portraits.

One of the women who works in the bookshop (an independent bookshop in the town just north of us where the Farmer’s Market is) took this photo of him the other day:

Now, I ask you: Isn’t he adorable? He got that hat in Edinburgh, by the way.

I know I have a bias, but gosh darn it, he’s the bees knees. I won the lottery the day I met him.

Not sure what’s on the docket today. I have to stop at the store and get a few things, as we can’t do our usual Monday morning shopping today since Don’s in the city. Maybe a drive? I’m trying to keep myself busy – always a good thing.

Happy Monday.

I was thinking with seeing rain in the forecast for CT that it was the end of the “leaf-peeping” season, which brings to mind my last vacation with my parents, visiting the NE.
Nice to see Don with nicely trimmed up whiskers and those apple cheeks (with a probable twinkle in the eye for you). Good hat, too.You both are lotto winners in my book.
We have spare-the-air day – the usual smell of burnt toast. Hoping it’s only one day.

I didn’t take the picture so I don’t think it was a twinkle in the eye for me!

Lots and lots of rain today. It’s coming down really hard at the moment. Thanks, Martha!

When your husband can garner such a compliment…you know you did the right thing all those years ago. Great picture of Don…love that hat, too!

It’s a gorgeous day here, so outdoor work is on the docket…just a few lingering projects. I plan on spreading them out over a few days, since the rain won’t be returning til Thursday. Enjoy your day! ;)

So rainy here today! I did get out to run some errands, but we’re tucked inside the house at the moment while the rains pours. Thanks, Donnamae.

you and don are blessed to have found each other. i am happy for you two!

glad he’s having fun and doing well with the photography. best wishes on the audition, too.

also, those are great photos of your fella and that magenta-y building on your property.

trust you’ll find something fun to do today. i’m off to look up the origin of that expression (“the bee’s knees”). :)

      Thanks, Kathy.

He is really loving his suspenders. He fell in love with them when he had to wear them in Margaritaville. Thanks, Shanna.

Yes he is adorable! Just looking at that picture, before reading the rest of your post, I was thinking how handsome he is! That’s a great picture of him and I don’t know if it’s the hat or the beard or what, but he’s looking quite dashing. You are a lucky lady!
I love that picture so much I would frame it.
My hubby loves his suspenders too!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
