A bit more prep this morning and then we wait. The snow isn’t going to start until late afternoon and then it will fall heavily overnight and well into Sunday. We may not even be able to start snow blowing until Monday morning. Still a forecast of six to ten inches, which was the prediction a few days ago.
We’ll try to get a walk in today because it will be a few days until we can get back on schedule. The pie is made, Don’s gig went well, I’m still debating whether to pack away the ornaments today so I can just leave the lights on the tree until sometime next week. Still no needle drop and I added water to the base yesterday, so we’re good to go.
I watched Moonstruck on TCM last night when Don was at his gig. A perfect movie on every level. Just a gem! I very seldom laugh out loud when I’m watching something alone, but I sure did last night. On my heavens, what a pleasure it is.
Some more photos of the studio. You have no idea how small my cubicle is and how hard it is to take a photo with so little room in which to maneuver. And the Beacon Hill blocks much of the light. Nevertheless, I try!
I’m having a hard time lately with WordPress. The quality of my photos, which I see clearly in my editing app, degrades the moment I upload the photo to WordPress. It’s really frustrating! This photo is much clearer in reality than you see here. I’ll have to do some research and see what I can find out about this problem.
Now, this photo is supposed to be blurry, so we’re good.
I’ll share some more photos on Monday. As well as snow photos, of course.
Okay, my friends.
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.

We have gotten a bit of snow but we are not expected to get as much as you.
Stay safe, Claudia!

I was just texting with a friend about how cold it is here…but nothing like you have with all the snow on it’s way! Glad you have pie and that Don’s gig went well, with better weather! It’s fun to see your photos! Thanks! Stay warm!
Claudia says
Thank you, Barrie.
Stay safe.
Elaine in Toronto says
A snow storm has a certain appeal when you’re warm and cozy inside with fresh apple pie to enjoy but a little goes a long way – snow that is, not apple pie, lol. Enjoy it as much as you can. Stay safe. Hugs, Elaine

Thanks, Elaine.

i trust that you and one of your favorites (shakespeare) won’t mind that i alter one of his quotes here as it seems appropriate to describe your studio … “though (it) be but little, (it) is fierce”. :)
you and don have done a great job not only fitting in but organizing and displaying in a small space so many of your interests and talents!
good luck resolving the mystery of clear photos uploading as blurry (though to my eyes and perhaps for seeing them on a small phone screen, i think these photos look clear). i appreciate all you share (and the time it takes) and love seeing how people live, what they like and display.
also, from yesterday’s post, that don loves your father’s boat and wants it on his own desk really touches my heart.
glad you two are stocked up, have pie at hand and are ready for the snowstorm (i hope everyone is). stay safe in every way!
here? most morning tasks done. it’s a little (patchy) frosty outside, but also 32 degrees so the thin icy swirls on my car windows and parents’ deck will soon disappear. earl and the birds are out, too. “war and peace” books (ordered last weekend) are not in yet, but that’s okay … i have plenty of other books to read, also yarn to knit and (not that i need another project … haha) am designing a counted-cross-stitch pattern for myself.
hope you, don and everyone else have an easy weekend. stay safe!
xo,
kathy

It is a wonder how many collections, and other memorabilia you have in your office. That’s not a criticism, it truly is a credit to your organizational abilities. Love your father’s ship on Don’s desk.
We got some snow last night, and into this morning. I would be excited, except for the fact that we were to go visit my son who lives an hour away. But…with slide-offs and snow covered roads up there…we’ve had to reschedule. And, now I’m trying to figure out what to do today…other than shovel.
Sounds like you are all set for your snowstorm. Glad the tree is holding up well. Enjoy your walk, before the wait begins! ;)
Claudia says
The tree is very, very dry! I just removed all the ornaments. It will be fine for a few days with just the lights on, especially since we don’t leave the lights on when we’re not in the house.
Considering we’ve had it up for over a month, I’d say the investment paid off.
Stay safe, Donnamae.

I loved seeing a photo of the doll house again; it’s a treasure. Also, isn’t that crate great with its convenient little cubbies; perfect repurposing.
Storm sounds SO ominous; stay in, stay safe! So glad you can be home in the shelter of your sturdy cottage. Have to really feel for the delivery people, first responders, tow-truck drivers, even news media, etc who have to be in the thick of it. The evening news had said, okay, at least it’s the weekend and a lot of people can be home. But there’s always the nurses on shifts, people who still work away from home on Saturdays and Sundays; folks who have to get out to the barn to feed their farm animals; just no rest for the weary. Praying ALL stay safe.
Linda says
Vicki thank you for remembering all those who have to be out in the weather.
They have to be out in it to make a living, they cannot complain.
Claudia says
Yes, there are so many people who have to be out, no matter what, though, except for first responders, everyone is being urged to STAY HOME.
Thanks Vicki.
Stay safe.

Wish we were neighbors……but since we aren’t I can only admire your organizational skills from Stonybrook, Long Island. There are so many pretty items to distract…..is it fun playing with them? I try to organize but it never lasts for long. If I start a painting…..my desktop stays a mess for days. When I play the piano…..every book and dogeared sheet of music is spread on top of the piano. My husband is the opposite…..his tools, desk…..drawers all organized. He is a bit of a packrat. I try. I am now taking the tree decorations down. I have organized the giftwrapping paper and removed the wreaths …..but the laundry needs folding and the refrigerator could use some work…..and I know there must be a good old movie on tv………so. Hope we don’t get blasted by snow, stay warm and safe Claudia.

You’ve cleverly used every inch of space in your studio. Looks like you have at least 2 dollhouses up there too.
Imagine my surprise when we woke up to it snowing today. It has snowed all day (and is still snowing now after 5 pm) a very wet heavy snow and we have around 2 inches on the ground now. Got my wish. Now, after a couple more days it can go away.
Take care,
Kay
Claudia says
Yes, then it can go away!
Stay safe, Kay.

I watched Moonstruck last night, too! It was delightful.
I love the cute photos of you and Don as children in your studio.

Interesting fact: actor Reginald Owen died in 1972 in Boise, ID.! He is buried there too.

Dawn Pinnataro says
Oh my goodness…I hoot when I watch Moonstruck, every single time! I think its because I swear to goodness I had several relatives exactly like the characters portrayed in this movie and it is like sometimes seeing a scene play out from my childhood. My Daddy’s father, my Grandpa Pinnataro, he used to slam his hands on tables like the character did and oh my goodness, so many things in this movie feel like visiting the Italian market in Buffalo with my Grandpa!! LOL. I saw this morning you got about a foot of snow. Oh, I don’t miss those days one bit! We, however are about to get chance of severe weather tomorrow, with 50 mph gusts for several hours, chance of tornadoes, etc. Hurricane Michael went right over our heads in 2018 (right at the time we were getting ready to bury my Dad locally at Andersonville National Cemetery – that was quite the week) and the tornadoes / straight winds 2 years prior where we had no power for a week again. And of course… I just bought several packages of meat, including boston butt this past weekend in my freezer! And my boy in hospital this week – he had infection flare up FAST and on Sunday morning had the tip of his left pinky removed (he is already double amputee – serious diabetic issues). Anyways, stay warm, stay safe and keep well!!! Dawn
Claudia says
I’m so sorry about your son, Dawn! Prayers for a full recovery.
Stay safe!

I love your studio. (I know. Broken record!) And your cubbies!
I haven’t seen Moonstruck in ages — it’s a delightful movie!
I’m so glad Don’t gig went well. What did you decide for the tree and ornaments?!
Claudia says
I took down the ornaments before the storm so I could pack them away in the shed.
We took the tree down yesterday.
Stay safe!
