Not only are we getting a lot of snow tomorrow, we’re also getting ice Thursday night.
Apparently, our first snowfall won’t be pretty event. I’m already sick of winter and it hasn’t officially begun!
Today will find us moving the A/C units out of the windows, cleaning up the porch, buying salt and getting the snow shovels out of the shed. I have a lot to do today!
This little mustard pot/crock arrived yesterday. It was an impulse buy, but I’m glad I went for it. It’s probably from the late 1800s – early 1900s and it’s got great graphics and an appropriate amount of rust. They don’t make packaging like this anymore, do they?
Since I have a marmalade crock from the British Isles, I figured I needed some sort of crock from France, too.
What else is new? Don is singing in a concert in Manhattan on Sunday evening. It’s to be a concert version of new musical that is in development called Johnny and the Devil’s Box. The music is bluegrass. One of the music directors from Margaritaville is working on it and recommended Don, as well as Don’s co-star, Rema Webb. It’s being done live with an audience with the intention of getting a good recording of the entire score.
I’m still working on Anastasia, but won’t be back there until November 20th. A young Australian pop star is coming in to replace the male lead and we’re working together to get him ready to take over the role at the end of November. Then I have another project starting up in December, a bit of work on a production of A Man for All Seasons. It’s all good.
Okay. Have to get moving. Time for work outside and it’s cold out there!

Hope you get all your projects finished today. Sometimes I get tired of the weather and the only thing I think that could make it better is to have cozy homes in about 4 or 5 different areas of the country. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?

Are the crocks only for display, Claudia, or will you put something in them? I love old pieces. I discovered an old Mr. Peanuts glass jar with fitted glass lid, and an old glass tobacco jar (unfortunately, glass lid missing) in my Uncle’s house when I was cleaning it out after his death. They now hold Japanese mochi candy, of which I am overly fond, and chocolates, of which I am even more fond.
Probably disply. I already have things in the big crock behind those two pieces and I don’t want it to get too busy there. That Mr. Peanuts jar must be wonderful!
Claudia, I dug out the Mr. Peanut jar when I noticed it was empty in order to fill it with mochi candy. It has a diamond “quilted” glass body, and the same design around the rim of the lid. The top of the lid has Mr. Peanut molded into the glass, and he’s at the bottom of the jar body too. But when I turned him over to look at the bottom, there was the year, stamped into the glass plain as day…1984! There goes my “old” theory…..hahaha! I still love it and it’s so much better than the jars the peanuts come in nowadays. It’s come to be my ironic piece, since it used to hold peanuts and my daughter is allergic to them.
Well, it’s over 30 years old, right?
So sorry to hear about the ice on top of the snow…it’s a double whammy. Mother Nature’s cruel idea of a practical joke? Hope you are able to get your chores done in time.
You know…one more crock and you’ll have a new collection. They say three of something is a collection. Better you than me! ;)
I have to watch myself – especially in the winter when I get bored!

Hope you were able to get your winterizing tasks completed today. Gas for the snowblower? Glad you don’t have to be anywhere tomorrow. Hot cocoa and a book sounds like a plan.
No gas for the snowblower, but we have some on hand already. We’re going to try not to use it as much – if at all possible – because we don’t want all of our new gravel shooting onto the lawn.

So busy! I’m working to get my spare room cleaned and organized. Ashleigh is coming home for Thanksgiving and will stay with me. I’m so excited. It’s the first Thanksgiving in a long time that I’ll be with both my girls, grands, sil and my Mom! If I can just remember to try to get some family photos! I’m so tired of this rain but I think we have a few more days of it.
