This guy.
He’s worked so hard for the last year. He’s having a lot of fun. He can’t wait to get back to work today (they had the day off yesterday).
We took it easy yesterday and ate a late breakfast down the street from the apartment. Then we came back to the apartment and fell asleep on the sofa. Today, I head home for a bit.
It’s been really lovely. Opening night was incredible. Watching Don get interviewed by the press was such a treat! Feeling the happiness and joy among the cast and those who saw the show that night was a delight.
I’ve never seen an audience not fall in love with this show. I’ve never seen anything less than crazy enthusiasm and applause throughout the show. It’s not a traditional musical. It’s all about happiness and peace and joy and Jimmy Buffett’s music. It’s about a lifestyle. There will be those who simply don’t get it, and that’s fine. Heck, I hardly knew anything about Jimmy Buffett before Don started this journey. But I’ve become a fan – of him and his music.
I hope it runs a long time, but who knows? I do know that it’s the perfect antidote for these poisonous times.
I’m really tired – I’ve gone through several days with not enough sleep – so I’ll make this short. Also have to get ready to head home. Sigh.
I’m so proud of my husband! He gets to bring joy to hundreds of people every day. Every day. Sometimes, twice a day! Can there be anything better than that?
Happy Saturday.
So happy for you and your husband. I saw him with the rest of the cast on the Today Show. Lots of talent. I can see why you are so proud.
Thank you, Sandy!
That’s so exciting! I can see why you’re so proud!
Thanks, Angela!
What a journey to this moment and I know you are so proud of Don. Safe travels, get some rest and Congratulations to Don and the cast of this fun show!
Thanks, Linda!
That’s it, isn’t it….bringing joy every day! What a marvelous job…if you can even call it that. I can hear the pride in your text….you are beaming. Safe travels back home! ;)
Thanks, Donnamae1
I hope you know how much fun it is to vicariously experience this journey. I’ve been telling everyone that I follow the blog of the woman married to the man who’s in ETM! Didn’t realize I knew so many Parrotheads. I hope the run is historic, because, yes, we need fun and joy in these troubled times.
Thanks, Melina!
What a wonderful experience for you! I know you don’t read reviews, but I do and it’s been such a treat to see Don singled out and praised for his performance. Of course you’re proud of him!
Thanks, Margaret!
This is such a fun ride—thanks for taking us along! You are most rightfully proud of your guy! Making people happy is a gift, for sure.

Sounds like an amazing opening. I’m sure he can’t wait to get back to the theatre today. Glad you were able to be part of this. Your dress was lovely! Great choice.

I’ve enjoyed your posts about the show and Don’s experience in it. I so admire people in the acting community and how they share their talents with the rest of us. You all add so much beauty and color to the world! I love Jimmy Buffet, by the way!
Me too! Thanks, Karen!
What an enchanted evening for all of you! The show sounds brilliant and fun. May the run be long and successful.

Claudia, you have a talented husband. He brings joy to others and helps them forget their troubles and every day things, bills, etc. You sure have a right to be proud of Dan. Safe trip home.
HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY
Marilyn
Thank you, Marilyn!
I heard Jimmy on NPR talking about the show on my way to work yesterday! They played a bit of the music and just hearing Jimmy talk about life and his music, I smiled all the way from driveway to parking lot. Congratulations to you and Don! I’m definitely going to try to get tickets.
Thank you, Deb!
Completely delighted for both of you! And so glad everything went so well Opening Night! Here’s hoping the show runs for so long that Don gets to hand his part over to another performer because he’s just tired of doing it and has zillions of other offers to field. It could happen!! Have a safe trip home – hope all the white stuff has melted by the time you get there. Peace.

Thank you, Janet!
We surely don’t need one more ounce of angst in our lives, so this show bringing JOY is absolutely wonderful! Truly an ESCAPE which we all need.
Safe travels and hope you are getting some of this 50* weather your way!!
Thank you, Chris!
Well, all I can share to that is, once, SO many years ago, I was at a Jimmy Buffett concert and although I’d listened to his familiar/catchy music on the car radio in my teens (he got a lot of air play in the 70s), I wasn’t AS aware of him back then nor had knowledge of his parrot-head/fins fans – – but it took me about a nanosecond to join in on the fun when I saw him entertain in person when I was in my 30s and I’ve loved the guy ever since.
I’m sure you can be in winter snow and he makes you feel like you’re in Gulf Coast sunshine. Forget your troubles in Margaritaville! It’s all about the ‘happy’ when Jimmy’s in the equation. And God knows, we can all really use a good dose of ‘happy’, especially in these times. There probably couldn’t BE any better, more PERFECT timing for this musical than right now in 2017, 2018 and for as long as it goes.
(Methinks Don could be employed for a WHILE yet!)
Again, many congrats and happy you two are happy, too!
Thank you, Vicki!
What a wonderful opening night! You looked fantastic in your new dress and it must have been such an amazing experience. Congratulations to both you and your husband!
Thank you, Carol!
I think giving happiness to others will surely give it back to you!…Thanks big guy!
Thanks, Nancy (me speaking for Don!)
