Playing around with my Nancy Drews and a photo filter. Currently, they’re on the vintage bookcase in the upstairs hallway, along with other vintage children’s books. That may change when we add bookshelves to the wall. Whenever that is…

Beautiful day out there – it’s quite sunny. I really think Spring is coming early this year. The temps in the 14 day forecast are mostly in the fifties, with a couple of days back in the forties. On Monday, we’ll hit 65. There’s always the chance of a big snowfall, but it looks increasingly like that won’t happen. I see some rain/snow showers here and there, but that’s it. I haven’t checked on the daffodils yet because they’re on the edge of the woods and I haven’t been up there, but I suspect they’re poking through the ground. I know some of my day lilies are. Since all the fallen leaves remain on the garden beds to protect the vegetation, I’m sure there is more evidence of new growth. I just can’t see it yet.

An early Spring? I’m onboard.

Today’s necessary chore: grocery shopping. We’ve put it off, but it’s time. We’re having an early dinner with Rick and Doug this evening. And that’s about it.

Don and I spent our second cup of coffee time this morning trying to keep track of the plot points in Babylon Berlin. It’s quite complex. This third season has only reinforced my feelings about this brilliant series – it’s simply the best I’ve ever seen. We watched three episodes last night – it was that good – so we’re going to slow down and watch the four remaining episodes slowly. One each evening.

Then, as we’ve done in the past, we’ll watch it all over again. It will spoil us, of course. Nothing else will look nearly as good.

Happy Thursday.

Another cool but sunny day, it’s back to rain again for the weekend. Daffodils are just about beginning to bloom in the grass verges along the roadside. It’s quite common to see them planted by communities. My neighbour across the road has snowdrops that are just about finished and his crocii look wonderful in purples and yellows. Mine never seem to bloom properly, I think he lives on the sunny side😀

Babylon Berlin 3 isn’t on Netflix here, it will be shown by a rival subscription network😬

I love your Nancy Drew collection, growing up my library only had a few but I remember how much I enjoyed them.

    Happy Thursday

I’m going to check out the rest of the yard today and see just what might be coming up, Dee Dee. Thank you!

Just a twitch of envy with all those divine Drews!

We’re having much the same weather — a bit cooler but not much. No arguments. Daffs are popping up as sprouts, most of the snow piles are gone except in the shade. A welcome respite!

I watched Babylon Berlin seasons 1 & 2 on Netflix and I know I got the email from Netflix on that season 3 coming (was supposed to start end of Feb but got pushed back to March) and I can’t wait to see it . Was quite the story line!!! I binge watched it last year when I was home a whole week with the flu. I laid in the recliner all day long and just let it run and it was so good. We have had RAIN, RAIN, RAIN and warnings all over the place yesterday and sadly it has been Tennessee and a couple of counties in north GA and the county right to my west that had tornadoes. Praying for anybody that has been affected by storms.

We’re almost to the end. Three episodes to go. I absolutely think it is brilliant-on every level. Glad to hear you loved it, too.
      Thank you, Dawn!

It’s 45 here today, but overcast and very windy. Rain coming later. Only high of 39 tomorrow. But 61 on Sunday. So like typical March, our weather will be all over the place. I’m sure your daffodils are poking through the ground because ours are. It’s so exciting to see them every spring, isn’t it?

It’s colder today and will be for two days, then warmer. I think my daffodils must be coming through, but we are further north than you. I’ll look later today. Thank you, Melanie!

glad you’re enjoying pretty weather right now … and know that you can get to gardening soon enough!

i am looking forward to spring, too … including some rainy weather that i can hopefully be home to enjoy … and daylight saving time starts next sunday! i just wish those in charge would move the clock one-half hour and leave it that way all year.

i checked into “babylon berlin” … it does sound good! i don’t have a way to see it right now, but am glad you’re able to enjoy it. i don’t watch much tv (horrible reception, horrible cost to get cable) but it’s nice to have a show, movie, book or some music to take us out of our routines and into other lives and eras for a bit, isn’t it?

are you cooking dinner for your friends tonight? if so, what’s on the menu? whatever, have a nice night!

No, we went out to dinner, Kathy. A rare thing for Don and me, as we usually save money and eat at home. It was delicious!

I just had to pop in to say I loved reading my Nancy Drews and I think I have a couple. I am jealous! Jealous, I tell you! How I love these little mysteries and the Hardy Boys! You made me smile and brought back lots of wonderful memories for me today.
    Be a sweetie,

I love that Nancy Drew collection. My sister has a great collection, too. Fortunately, she kept them so my twin and I enjoyed them. She has a lot of older books that she took great care of ,so we read them when we got older. I love vintage children’s books and a few of the adult ones ,too.
Enjoy you grocery shopping. I just had my delivered, it is easier when you do not have a car.

These are all vintage editions from the 30s and 40s, with cover illustrations by Russell H. Tandy. They’re the only ones I collect. Glad that your sister has some, as well! Thank you, Marilyn.

I can’t quite believe it’s been such a mild winter, except for November. But it’s been hellish everywhere else in the country in terms of snow and wind. No crocus here yet or daffodils, but if the temps keep up, it won’t be long. It will be lovely to see the colors.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
