Trees in the Late Afternoon

November 8, 2009 at 9:25 am by Claudia

Late Friday afternoon, I ventured outside with my camera. The sky was moody and lit by the setting sun – I had to take some photos of our trees, the mountains and the beautiful sky.

You can see the bean pods hanging from the Catalpa tree.

The Sugar Maple casts a shadow on the cottage.

I hope you enjoyed this view of a late autumn afternoon at the cottage.

    Claudia:
That time of year already up north…especially after such a short summer! Your photos are beautiful and your cottage looks very cozy. Have a great day, my friend.

Those leaves just disappear overnight don’t they? Love your photos. Pretty cottage.

Good Morning, Claudia… I thoroughly enjoyed the pictures of fall there, of your mountain, and of your wonderful cottage. We don’t see fall until about December, except for very subtle changes. We have finally gotten some cooler weather.

I am sort of being lazy this morning. I ate a late breakfast, and I’m seriously considering going back to bed. Mr. Magpie isn’t here, so I can do that. ;-)

Love to you and happy dreaming on this autumn day…

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

Such lovely photos. So different here in CA. Our trees still have leaves although they are starting to fall.

Have a wonderful, peaceful Sunday, Claudia.

    Hugs,
    Marsha

I think that’s the first time I’ve seen your cottage, sugar. It’s magnificent! I love seeing shadows crossing over homes also. To me it makes them feel “homey.”

    Hi Claudia,

What beautiful pictures. You can just feel the air looking at them. I especially love the one with the shadow on your cottage. So very pretty.

    Oh Claudia!
I love the beautiful photos that you shared. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and so quaint looking. I would have fell in love with it too.

The trees have gone to sleep, and thus the shells stand cold and alone in the forest. They look like spickey long fingers reaching out.

Have a beautiful Sunday sweetie. Stop by soon. Country hugs, Sherry

Loving your late afternoon photos. All so beautiful. Your trees are so bare.

We are a little behind you with fall…still have leaves on the trees. But, the days and nights are getting cooler so all the leaves should be on the ground soon.

LLLLLLOOOVVVVEEEE you cottage. I could move right in!!!

    Hugs, Dogwood

It looks like things are creeping towards winter there too. Why does it seem like winter starts mid- November instead the end of December?
Once all the leaves are gone it seems like Winter to me! I hope your day is a wonderful one!

It must be heaven-on-earth up in your neck of the woods, Claudia. I can just see us all (all we bloggers) cozying up to a fire with hot coffee or cocoa just chatting away… can’t you?

Thanks for sharing the autumn beauty!

What a beautiful cottage and setting you have, Claudia! The sky was beautiful that day! Are you enjoying any of the warm weather that we’ve been having for the past 2 days? I’m delirious and loving it!!… Donna (fyi – the word verification I have to type in next is ‘urines’… usually it’s gobble-de-gook!)

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
