Tuesday morning

March 31, 2009 at 12:54 pm by Claudia

Does this ever happen to you? You get up, blindly walk to the coffeemaker, get out the filter, measure the coffee, pour fresh water into said coffeemaker, walk blindly to chair, wait until coffee is done, walk blindly back to kitchen, pour coffee, drink coffee…and at some point when you are a bit more awake you realize that there are grounds in your cup? The darn filter has folded over on itself again! For some reason this causes the grounds to deposit themselves right back in the coffee. I find it usually happens when I am nearing the end of my stack of filters. Back to coffee maker, dump out coffee, clean out filter housing, insert new filter, scoop more coffee into filter, pour fresh water….ah! much better.

That’s how my morning started out, along with a slight sinus headache and not quite enough sleep. Nevertheless, I am determined to move on, so let’s look at some more eggs ~

I have been making more fabric eggs. I am a bit addicted. These are about ready to be sewn up. However, in the course of my packing for the trip out here, I neglected to bring a basic needle and thread. I have tapestry needles, needles to sew up seams in my knitting (let’s ignore the fact that I have done exactly none), quilting thread…no regular needle and thread. Note to self: get some today. I am taking these home on Saturday to spring up the old homestead.

In keeping with my determination to be positive, another bouquet has arrived courtesy of Trader Joe’s. I know that my daffodils are starting to emerge at the cottage, but I am not so sure I will see them bloom during my brief visit home. Yes, I’m keeping my fingers crossed, but in the meantime I am enjoying these.

Have a wonderful day.

Oh have I been there— I even had a coffee pot that if the pot was in there just right coffee went EVERYWHERE… try facing that at 5 am. Needless to say, I bought a new coffee pot. Love the daffodils… can’t wait till our turn to get them… Hope the rest of your Tuesday goes better…

    I drink coffee but I like the instant (3 n 1 thing))one so didn’t experience that :-)

You sure have lots of those eggs sewn. Now, how will you display it? They must be really soft to touch. Love the pastel colors.

Fabric eggs are beautiful! LOVE THEM! I’m not a coffee drinker, but I have heard my co-workers tell the same story!

    Much love!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
