Two Things

January 31, 2026 at 9:11 am by Claudia

First: I mourn Catherine O’Hara, who I first discovered decades ago in Detroit when we watched SCTV on the local Canadian station out of Windsor, Ontario. I’ve been a huge fan of her work ever since. She was brilliant, perhaps the best comedic actor ever, and she was kind and good and loved by everyone who knew her. I was shocked at the news she had passed away. What a tragic, untimely loss.

In the past year, we have lost Gene Hackman, Robert Redford, Diane Keaton, Rob Reiner, and now, Catherine O’Hara. It’s inconceivable.

Second: and this is why there is no photo on the post, I have long followed the ξp*tein Files and the testimonies of those women and men who were victims of what is now clearly a cabal of predators, abusers, and murderers. Orange is at the center of all of it. He r*ped children. Repeatedly. And far worse. Names of those in his previous and current administration also appear in the Files. As do the names of the wealthy and powerful. I’ve downloaded the newest release because we must make sure that information isn’t scrubbed by you-know-who.

I could write reams about this. But it comes down to two things. Believe the victims. And remove Orange and his entire administration – the administration that has worked so hard to hide this information.

Sharing my thoughts and my research about the ξp*tein Files on this blog is not something I do. I keep that separate. But, if you’re ignoring the information that is coming out – don’t. It’s shocking and it’s stomach turning. But we must bear witness to this and we must use our considerable power to ensure that those who are guilty are brought to justice.

Stay safe.

Happy Saturday.

Thank you, Claudia, for bringing this to our attention. I will never understand the people who respond to all this serious government overreach like a mild inconvenience. I genuinely don’t understand the luxury of that kind of detachment. As to the Epstein files…. people should read the documents for themselves. Don’t let anyone gloss over or rewrite what is already on the record. The facts. ugly and disgusting are there in black and white. Read them and don’t rely on anyone’s spin or clean up job. For those not sure how to access the public Epstein files Search DOJ Epstein Library on Justice.gov. as one way or for DOJs latest public releases search DOJ releases new Epstein files Cyber news for instructions and database links. Start with official DOJ database then read documents in order and rely on source material not summaries or commentary. I am going through the files myself, line by line. Trump and his kind have been corrosive-not just politically, but to our shared sense of decency and truth.

    agree about catherine o’hara.

agree about the “leaders” and those files and fighting for the victims and survivors! thank you for saving all those documents. unfortunately the elected officials in my state aren’t really helpful with this mess. they’ve each done a few good things in office before/without you-know-who and one is a veteran, but now one (who stated publicly that she had been sa’d as an adult) is not seeking re-election, the other is 92 and should have left office many, many years ago and both of them and the others seem to follow you-know-who like puppies. sorry to puppies. ugh.

related … my sister and i have been knitting red hats for a while. am currently trying a new-to-me pattern (a different norwegian resistance hat) with a brand of yarn i’ve also not used before, and i’m loving it … even though progress is slow and these size 5 circular needles feel like i’m knitting with toothpicks. :)

hope you and don have recuperated from all the snow removal.

and that you two and everyone else have a nice weekend and stay safe in every way.

I was also so surprised to hear the Catherine O’Hara had died. I so enjoyed her in Schitt’s creek.
I saw a bit of the files that were released. How horrifying for those children. Why all of those men have not been arrested is beyond me. I will continue to hope for justice for all of those victims.

Everyone needs to be arrested, put on trial, and spend the rest of their days in prison.

      Stay safe, Ellen.

Hmmmm. I deliberately didn’t use correctly spelled names, so I think it has nothing to do with that but is a glitch on your end or a bad connection. I’ll try leaving one. (I didn’t have a problem leaving a comment.)

      Stay safe, Donnamae.

I didn’t use any legitimate names either. Seemed to be affected by length of comment.

Readers can leave long comments here. Never had a problem with that. Probably some sort of glitch.

Also left a purposely long comment on the blog when I wasn’t signed in, so I would be like any other reader. I had no problem. Hopefully, next time you visit all will be well, Donnamae.

100% with you on the arrests and trials. No One should get away with that kind of behavior. I can’t knit but did buy a read cap to wear as protest.

Yes, stomach turning in every way. And the cover-up from DOJ (despite what they say about redactions) is abhorrent. Everything you said, I second.

And Catherine O’Hara…. biggest sad sight. She was brilliant.

I enjoy reading blogs for recipes, craft ideas and to see the latest decor trends, but that will have to change. I suppose that, if a person uses blogging as a source of income, it makes sense to become an Amazon affiliate. However, after news of the $75 million “documentary” premier, I think affiliating with an individual who worships money and fame so much they are willing to cater to a dictator is shameful. Of course, I can choose not to follow them and I can purchase things locally or directly from their producers, can’t I?

      Yes, you can.

I was an Amazon affiliate for about five minutes 14 or 15 years ago. I’m so glad I stopped that. I would urge all Amazon affiliates to cease their relationship with Amazon.

      THanks, Liz.

      Stay safe.

Don’t eliminate all orange. Orange is the Netherlands color.
My doll raine has the same hair, as zoe, and I’ve always liked it. I like raine in her light green dress red would look good. She snd all three have jackets or cardis on right now. Did I tell you i’m hoping to buy another doll. I cant decide on one. I need a little money first, as I like to also buy a coming home outfit as well.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
