Walking with my Girl

May 8, 2012 at 7:30 am by Claudia

Little Miss Scout and I took a walk yesterday morning. It was a bit cloudy and mysterious and awfully beautiful.

“The woods are lovely, dark and deep…”
A lovely interlude with my little girl. I was all set to mow when I got back, but the friggin’ lawn mower isn’t working. Not good. At this time of year, we have to mow a lot. I won’t be back here for about 9 days and that’s a lot of grass growing time.
The good news? I just found out that tech is taking a bit longer than planned, so I get to stay here one more day. I’ll go back on Wednesday. That works out beautifully, as Don’s day off is Wednesday and he won’t have to do the ‘drive Claudia to Hartford, go home, change, and go to work routine.’
Smile.

How wonderful to get the unexpected bonus day home. Enjoy every moment of it. I a sorry about your mower. I hate when I get all ready to do something and although my spirit is willing the mechanical end of it isn’t able. Happy Tuesday- xo Diana

An extra day to enjoy. So Thankful!
Do you know what breed your dog is? Looks like could be part spitz. I can’t tell. So sweet and I’m glad you have him. I have found as I age a bit that having someone come in to mow costs less than continued mower repair. Depends on where you live. But we had so many times that we went out to start it and it would not start. I checked around and found someone who would come just when I call him. I did have to put little fences around my special trees but what a relief that I do not have to worry about starting the mower. Best to you as you enjoy this day.

    Hi Claudia,

It looks like a wonderful walk! It’s nice to have a river and wood nearby. I’m sure your little girl really enjoyed the walk too. Hope you can get that mower fixed before your grass gets too long. I love spring and summer but it also means grass mowing.

Claudia, your photos are wonderful! If I had beautiful spaces like that by my house, I could probably be convinced to take up walking.
    Enjoy your extra day off!

Thanks for taking us on your walk, Claudia. There is nothing I like more than fields with wildflowers and woods with rocky bed creeks. Hope your lawn mower gets fixed soon and enjoy your extra day.
    Hugs,

Dear Claudia, what a very beautiful tour you two had, I love your green wood, and the wonderful water, running over stones and looking so fresh and blue between the green trees.–Too bad the moover did not function when your energy was there !
Hugs to you, I hope your tour to Hartford is a good one.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
