Gray, rainy, rather depressing outside.
Inside:
My copy of War and Peace did not arrive yesterday and being a good student type who also always arrives early, I felt a bit of panic. We’re reading a chapter a day and it was already 3 days into the year. So I downloaded it to my iPad (for $1.99) and read the first three chapters. Of course, after thinking it was lost, I just received a message that it will be delivered today. I took this picture for Brenda, who loves using a Kindle/iPad for reading. See, Brenda? I won’t be reading any more on the iPad after today, but here’s proof that I used it!
More of the girls sans Christmas sweaters and then I’ll ease up on posting photos of them.
Holly.
Maeve.
Sophie.
The sweaters have been put into ‘storage’ until next year.
I packed up all of the miniature Christmas decorations and they’re also stowed away until next year. The furniture in the dollhouses has been rearranged and all is back to normal.
Now, I have to force myself to straighten up the office. I’ve done a wee bit up there, but much more needs to be done. I tend to dump things on the desk and chair.
Okay. There is much reading to be done today and watering of houseplants and vacuuming, etc.
Stay safe.
Happy Wednesday.

You are the sweetest person. It took me a year or so to adjust to reading that way. I am so old fashioned. However as I said it is great FOR ME now. Hundreds of free books from. Netgalley. I was always a germ freak but during Covid worse. Lol
Enjoy your W and P. I admire you for your projects. You are an amazing person and I am thankful for you.
Claudia says
And I am thankful for you, Brenda.
Stay safe!

hope the chores go fast so you can enjoy lots of time reading (in the format of your choosing)!
we had a little snow overnight after rain and beautiful gray skies yesterday afternoon. shouldn’t cause a problem (and it sure looks pretty) so will get to things around here … grocery shopping is on the list.
happy, safe wednesday to everyone.

The same to you, Kathy!

Claudia, I’m with you….I like reading an actual book! Sounds like you’ve got all your Christmas things packed and ready for next year…I still have to do that. Well, we’re getting ready for quite a storm here in the Bay Area… raining now with a second part coming in this afternoon that is supposed to last till about 9 or 10 this evening. I’ve got flashlights ready! Happy reading!
Claudia says
I’ve been hearing about this storm. Rain, wind?
Stay safe!
Elaine in Toronto says
It’s grey and kind of drizzly here, too. Love your girls in their pretty dresses. That style is very flattering and very cute. Nice little stash of winter woolies to put away for next year. I’ll be looking for new sweater ornaments early next fall. I got my new calendar hung up yesterday. It took me two hours to transpose all the information but it’s done for another year. Enjoy your day.
Hugs, Elaine
Claudia says
It’s a good feeling to have the calendar prepped for the year.
Stay safe, Elaine.

Claudia, I have enjoyed reading your blog so much through the years. Hope you and Don have a wonderful 2023 ahead. I’m very excited about the chapter a day War and Peace. I found a sign up on Youtube but can’t find a 2023 sign up. Where do I go?
Thank you!
Claudia says
I don’t know about a sign up on YouTube. I signed up through an account on Instagram. Are you on IG, Lottie? If so, the account is @footnotes.and.tangents – I’ll check his initial post about it to see if there’s another way to sign up and if there is, I’ll add it here.
Stay safe!
Lottie says
Thank you Claudia! I found the account for footnotes.and.tangents on IG clicked on Following. Hope that does it. -D
Claudia says
Now you have to find his post about the readalong and let him know you want to join it. It isn’t enough just to follow him, Lotte.

I love their little pile of sweaters! I know what you mean about the office. I took the first stab at mine yesterday and I can finally see the desk top (which isn’t to say it’s bare — I can just see it!) and nothing is in fear of toppling over anymore. So, I’ll take it as a start. Slowly transitioning from Christmas to Winter. After Twelfth Night the transition will be much faster. (Well, maybe after the ninth. Between two MRIs on Saturday and Grand Littles on Sunday and overnight… that’s enough stress for a weekend!)
Denise says
I want Sophie’s dress!
Claudia says
I think we all do!
Stay safe, Denise.

Beautiful moments
Sitting on patio I. Flip flops and crop pants and tshirt
My tiny fountain going
Palm trees swaying
Listening to Don sing Benediciton
I love that
Thank you Don
Claudia says
Oh, thank you, Brenda. I’ll pass this along to Don.
