What are the Mini Owners Collecting?

May 13, 2026 at 8:38 am by Claudia

I stayed in yesterday (except to water the zinnia seeds.) I mowed the lilac side of the lawn on Monday and, even wearing a mask and the goggles that I use for spraying the sealer I use on the dolls, I ended up feeling sick yesterday.

Yes, my friends, imagine how lovely I looked in that get up!

So, until the worst of the pollen is over, I’m going to have to limit my time outside. But that’s okay, I have my Beacon Hill project to work on. I’m about to start in on the bedroom wallpaper. I just finished painting the formerly brown ceiling in that room white.

I ordered a few more mini Roseville vases and they arrived on Monday. And then I had an idea: what if the ‘collection’ that I’m planning on displaying in the green cabinet was Roseville pottery? So I stole some of the Roseville from Hummingbird Cottage, and added the newer pieces that I had just received. The cubbies themselves are narrow, so any pottery that is rounder and wider than the opening won’t fit. Some of those pieces of mini Roseville went back to Hummingbird Cottage.

Anyway, this is what I ended up with.  (You can still see some of the tacky stuff I use in mini world to attach pieces to various surfaces. I’ll clean that up today.)

I need at least 2 more pieces of narrower Roseville, which I’ll attend to in the next couple of weeks.

What do you think?

By the way, this is a closeup of the cabinet and at the top you can see the diagonal lines from the 3D printing process. That’s okay with me because in real life, you really can’t see them when it’s in place in the dollhouse. But I thought you’d find that interesting.

Gosh, I took so many shots of this cabinet trying to get its actual color. I’ve never seen a color change so much depending on the light. It’s maddening! I finally had to place it on Don’s desk.

So. Wallpapering today. Flooring starting tomorrow or Friday.

Still pondering this, but it’s quite pricey. I’d have to sell some things first.

Stay safe.

Happy Wednesday.

That stove is pretty darned cute — I can see why you’d want it! I love the Roseville in the cabinet. They look great in those narrow spaces.

It’s looking great, Claudia. I can’t wait to see the next additions. I just hope you are feeling better and keep inside as much as you can!

i think the roseville pottery looks beautiful on its own and especially in that wonderful cupboard, and is a terrific collection for the owners to enjoy.

also, i think those diagonal lines on the cupboard are “wood grain”, aren’t they? :)

glad you are having fun working on the beacon hill. hope you feel better soon.

finally saw “devil wears prada 2” yesterday. enjoyed the first one, but unfortunately not this one (nor the popcorn). oh, well. at least i know what they wanted for the characters and it doesn’t look like they will make a third one.

driveway repair/partial replacement is to start friday, weather permitting. hopefully that goes well. grateful the bill is not ours (though we do pay hoa fees each month to help with outside stuff). whee!

    happy, safe wednesday!

No, they are not wood grain, either real or fake. They are marks from the 3D process.

      Thanks, Kathy!

      Stay safe.

i know. just thinking maybe you could consider the 3d marks to be like wood grain because (at least from my little phone-view) that’s what it looks like. :) either way, beautiful cupboard. hope you can get that cute stove soon.

It actually doesn’t concern me – this is a closeup. I don’t really notice them when it’s in the room. I was just pointing them out as an interesting aspect of 3D printing. xo

The Roseville is perfect. I’m enjoying seeing your progress. You definitely need that stove!
I hope you are feeling better. Allergies are miserable.
    Take care

Ohhh, Claudia… that Stove!!! I Love it and I sure hope you figure out a way to have it for this property! It would fit so well with what you have already set as a tone for this house… old but just plain gorgeous. The “Cadillac” of kitchen stoves of that era. And the Roseville pottery looks made for that cabinet! The mini versions of the RL pottery are so gorgeous and amazing to think they are minis. I look forward to seeing more, and also to what you decide to use to “balance” this little collection.
I hope your allergies calm down soon… but having a great project for meanwhile makes staying indoors easier to bear!

You do know that we have that stove in a life-sized kitchen, right? That’s why I want this mini version. Ours is white, but this mint green is perfection!

Boy, I had a very frustrating time with wallpaper today. When the house and window trim is already assembled, it can be tricky getting around those trims!

      Stay safe, Betsy.

The Roseville pottery seems a perfect fit for the cabinet. The colors coordinate well with the green of the cabinet. What will you put on the uninhabited cubbies?

Sorry you’re not feeling well. I stopped taking my allergy meds about 2 weeks ago and I’ve started again. I don’t get the usual symptoms of runny or stuffed nose, or itchy eyes, but I know my allergy season is upon me when I wake up multiple times each night coughing uncontrollably. Thank goodness most of the OTC allergy meds work for me. I change out the meds every few weeks.

Work on the house begins tomorrow. Replacing some lengths of siding where the squirrels are nibbling, the outside lights over the garage door, and the kitchen ceiling lights, which, unfortunately, necessitates that the ceiling be removed and everything rewired. At least this will be a short period of work. The bathrooms and flooring took 6 weeks last year.

I’m going to leave them uninhabited, so it looks more like a deliberate choice. I only have a limited number of these mini roseville vases available.

Good luck with the work ahead, Wendy!

      Stay safe.

Allergies are the plague. Have you noticed kids are not getting allergy shots like they used to. I went once a week for years when I was a teenager. Not sure it even helped. Those sweet Roseville vases make you want to search for the real ones. They look perfect in the hutch. And that stove! How cute is that! It’s a must have. Hugs, Elaine

Lovely cabinet! I’m excited to see how the room comes together around it. Do you have a favorite seller of the miniature Roseville pottery?

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
