Well, for those of you who were extra observant this morning, you might have seen a quick panicked post about my camera not working. I couldn’t get the shutter to work and as this has been a bit problematic lately, I thought I no longer had a working camera. Dollar signs flashed in front of my eyes.
I figured out what the problem was and all is well, for the time being. Sigh of relief.
Now for the next installment of “What the heck is in that china cabinet?”
Here you see the kitchen china cabinet in all it’s jumbled glory. Starting with the top shelf, on the left:
1. Some Emma Bridgewater pottery: A saucer and pitcher. I have another pitcher holding our toothbrushes in the bathroom. 2. A child’s plate, also Bridgewater 3. Baked egg cup, Bridgewater (All the Bridgewater pottery was bought when I was in England.) 4. Small cream pitcher, Bridgewater 5. Fiesta teapot that I saved for myself when I sold my collection. I love it.
Top shelf, on the right:
1. McCoy vase 2. Platter, Johnson Bros. Rose Chintz (I have the dishes, as well) 3. Lovely shaker given to me by Donna 4. McCoy pot 5. McCoy pot 6. Depression glass salt and pepper shakers
Middle shelf, left:
1. Roseville pottery 2. Harlequin pitcher with my Bakelite flatware 3. Brown transferware sugar and creamer 4. pine cone candle from Poland, given to us by the same friends who gave me 5. tiny teapot 6. plate from Anthropologie with the initial H
Middle Shelf, right:
1. Teacups from my collection of Edwin Knowles china 2. Large plate that I bought in California because I loved it 3. McCoy vase 4. McCoy planting dish 5. Very old Brush McCoy pitcher 6. China salad plate made in France
Bottom shelf, left:
1. McCoy pottery planter 2. Red Wing Pottery vase (the inside is a soft green 3. Fiesta teapot 4. McCoy planting dish with a nest I found on the property inside)
Bottom shelf, right:
Lots of Edwin Knowles China.
There are a few vases missing from the cabinet. They are currently holding all the flowers I had to cut when the frost hit on Friday night.
There you go. Always dicey trying to photograph the inside of a cabinet. On a cloudy day.
These scarves are currently in the Etsy shop:
Happy Monday.
Love the Edwin Knowles tea-cups.
Me, too! I just fell totally in love with that china pattern.
Claudia, I have so loved looking in your cabinets. You have such great pieces. This is a wonderful idea!
Maybe we can peek in your cabinet sometime, Beverly? I, for one, would love to see your hatpin holder collection!
I can’t take my eyes of the Bridgewater pottery to look at the other pieces! I’m so in love with that brand.
Me, too, Maureen. If I had limitless funds, I’d buy all of it.
Love the Emma Bridgewater pieces. So neat. And also the McCoy blue pitcher. All of it is neat, but those are probably my favorites.
I don’t think I have to tell you how much I love your scarves. ;-)
XO,
Sheila
P.S. Glad you got your camera working!
I went through about an hour of total panic, Sheila. I depend on my camera for blogging and I didn’t know what I was going to do! Thank goodness, everything seems to be working at the present.
xo
I have no doubt it was horrible. I am so thankful you got it working again and hope it is all okay now. One of the worst things that ever happened to me was losing a computer where all of my old pics were stored. It got hit by lightening, even with a surge protector. And now the other pics are all on my computer that is flukey. I pray I can get them off!
I pray that yours is giong to be fully functional for you, Claudia.
XO,
Sheila
I am in love with top shelf, right side, #4… That beautiful pot!! Gorgeous! That color and that detail…so pretty. And, also middle shelf, #3,4,& 5!! Nice collection, Claudia! ;)
Thank you so much! If left to my own devices, I’d be buying stuff all of the time. But there’s only so much room here at the cottage.
So glad your camera is working again. I actually dug out an old one of mine and wondered if it would be worth sending to you! It’s not fancy, but would work in a pinch.
Oh, Karen, you are such a sweetheart! Thank you. So far, it’s working again!
xo
What a fun post! I love peeking in china cabinets and it’s way fun to get a guided tour! I recently collected some Jadeite and showed photos of them in my cabinet. But I put all of them on 1 shelf and I like how you mix your stuff up. I need to take everything out of mine and start over.. right now it’s stuffed to the gills! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
I’ll have to go look at your Jadeite, Teresa. Jadeite is something I’ve always wanted to collect! Lucky you!
Love, love, love the coloring in your wine scarf!!!
Thank you, Jan!
Hi Claudia- your china hutch looks beautiful. Love all the turquoise in the mix.
Glad you got the camera working again. Love the scarves.
Pat
Gosh, I am SO glad the camera started working. Cross your fingers that it keeps working smoothly.
I enjoyed snooping through your china cabinet! I love to do things like that. I am gearing up for next week’s Favorite things! I’ve been neglecting my blog lately, but I’m back!
I’m glad you’re back, Lynn!
I love seeing what’s in your China cabinet!!!
hugs, Linda
Thanks, Linda!
Hi Claudia, camera troubles are always awful. I am glad you fixed it. The china cabinet is filled with so much china and pottery goodness. I am constantly on the look out for a china cabinet. I would love to have one to display my copious amount of dishes. Have a splendid week, Olive
I could use another but there is simply no more free space here at the cottage. Darn!
Very nice collections!
I also have the Johnson Bros. Rose Chintz pattern dishes. We either use them or Fiesta Ware every night for dinner.
My grandmother had a set of the Rose Chintz when I was a young girl. I starting collecting it a few years back because it brought back happy memories.
Just love your collection but the Fiesta teapot is my favourite. Please plant a smooch on it for me, will ya? Gorgeous scarves too… love that harvest colour combo!
I’ve given it a big kiss!
That Harlequin pitcher really caught my eye! I’m kind of sorry I sold my Hall pottery. Oh well….
Such lovely collections of love. :)
Thank you!
My eyes caught on that turquoise teapot and wouldn’t go anywhere else…lol.
Oh that is cute.
Jen @ Muddy Boot Dreams
I know – it is adorable, isn’t it?
Oh my, that Rose Chintz platter! I love it!!
It’s such a pretty pattern!
You’ve displayed everything so nicely in your cupboard. You’ve got so many goodies in there I couldn’t pick a favorite if I tried!
It’s so much fun to look inside someone’s china cupboard and see what treasures are in there! I live in McCoy country and you have a nice collection! A little bit of everything in there!~Hugs, Patti
I LOVE the Fiesta teapot ~ so glad you kept it. I must tell you that if I ever came to visit, I’d probably have my nose in your chiina cupboards most of the time. It’s a treat to see your collection.
Hello Claudia,
What a beautiful collection of pretty pieces. My MIL has the same beautiful Rose Chintz dishes that you have and I can’t help but think of enjoying them on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter.
Thank you for sharing, my friend.
Blessings on this glorious Autumn day,
Carolynn
You have such lovely things, Claudia. I love those two Fiesta teapots. And I see you have bakelite cutlery, too! he pieces I have are amber or tan, but I love that reddish brown you have.
