Where are the Fabric Eggs?

April 11, 2023 at 9:32 am by Claudia

A day off today and I really, really need it. Still not feeling well, with the added gift of allergies gone haywire. It’s all very frustrating and that’s all I’m going to say about that.

Adrian: Because of his complications during the transplant, he was under anesthesia for over 7 hours and it took a long, long time for him to come out of it. I can’t imagine how worried Margaret must have been. He is no longer intubated, but he is in incredible pain. So the next few days will be very hard. Margaret sounds exhausted. I can’t imagine she’s slept much at all. But the heart is working, thank God.

The very first thing Don and I prayed for was the family of the donor. That’s the difficult thing about this; getting a new heart means there has been a tragic loss of life.

So we wait and try not to pester Margaret. Just one update a day. Don waited until I got home last night to text her. And we pray for our friend.

I am so ready to end these commutes into the city. I’m sure that my feelings about that are impacted by my being sick, but I am SICK OF THE COMMUTE. Half the time, I have to kill an hour or two in the Times Square area because I am there early because of the bus schedule. Or I have to kill time before I can go home for the same reason. And then there’s the bus ride itself. Anyway, commuting into NYC lost its appeal years ago.

One more day. That means I won’t post tomorrow as I have to get up at 5 am in order to get into the city in time for a 10:30 am run-through. Next week, probably on Monday, I’ll drive to the theater in New Jersey for a dress/tech run-through and hopefully, that will be IT. I will say that everyone who works for the Paper Mill Playhouse has been generous and kind and extremely helpful. What a wonderful organization!

You’re probably wondering where the fabric Easter eggs were this year.

Here you go:

Zoe always looks slightly worried.

I’ll probably leave the eggs there for a few more days.

Sorry that I am unable to reply to comments on some days. It will all get back to normal soon. Thanks for understanding.

Stay safe.

Happy Tuesday.

prayers continue for adrian, the donor and their families and friends.

grateful and good that adrian is past the surgery and intubation!

grateful to adrian’s donor and everyone else who’s shared the gift of life. i’m sure the donor’s kindness is no surprise to his or her family and friends … but may this donation bring another bit of comfort to them in the sadness of their loss.

prayers continue for you and don to feel better soon. it sure has been sticking with you! ):( allergies and long-and-varied work hours don’t help! glad if you can rest (and i say please don’t ever worry about replying to comments, especially when not feeling well or extra-busy). glad you are enjoying the work at least!

always good to see the fabric Easter eggs that you made. wren looks like she’s reaching out to get mei’s attention … “look at this pretty egg!” (did i get their names right?).

warming up here. supposed to be in the high 70s for the next week, with three days over 80. too much too soon, for me at least.

lots to do so i best get to doing stuff.

happy tuesday to everyone. stay safe!

You did pretty good – that’s Lily, though. Wren is the one in pigtails. But big points for ‘Mei!’

Yes, we’re getting the 80s later in the week – too much, too soon, and my sinuses will be complaining and I don’t need that.

      Stay safe, Kathy.

Continued thoughts for your friend and the donor’s family…

Nice to hear that you’re working with a good group… makes the commute a bit more tolerable.

We’re having warmer weather in the Bay Area, too….feels so nice to be out in the sunshine!

Your fabric eggs look festive….looks kind of difficult to make…

Good luck with all your work!

Not difficult at all! And I’m no seamstress.

      Stay safe, Barrie.

Yes prayers for adrien and his family and the donor family
Reading this really made me look at my woes and stop
Is this a low budget production?
Is that why they could not give you any accommodations?

No, it’s not low budget. No show rehearsing in New York gives you accommodations if you can commute and I can commute. That would be foolish. Especially when I go in only once or twice a week.

Don used to have to go through the same thing for a 2 minute audition.

They reimburse me for travel costs.

      Stay safe.

Continued prayers for Adrian and Margaret. Loved seeing your girls all together with your pretty Easter eggs. Lily looks adorable in her flowered dress. Love the colours in it. Glad you only have one more day of communting to New York, Claudia. You’ll soon be able to rest and really get well. Don, too. Hugs, Elaine

Praying for your friend and the donor family. Your trip into the city with waiting times before and after sounds like a nightmare, and then to be sick on top of it! I’m so sorry and I hope the end of this project corresponds with some beautiful weather so you can sit on your porch and just relax and enjoy yourself!! You’ve earned it!

Continued prayers and well wishes for you, your friend, and everyone out there with health issues. Miracles abound when dealing with heroics of docs and hospitals, as we know too well. But it’s still very tough on those who are in the midst of suffering. Meanwhile, we are counting our blessings and current calendar—empty of appointments for a few more weeks. Super cells still working, but not yet ready to claim victory.

It looks like the girls had a very happy Easter with all those eggs! Although I think Zoe’s worried look is because she’s been worried about you and Don. I am too and am glad you got the day off but hope that by tomorrow you are improved more. The downside of work…. working when you feel awful.

Prayers for Adrian and the donor family from me, too.

We’re well and truly sick of being sick, Jeanie.

Not helped by the arrival of pollen, of course, or extreme weather changes.

      Stay safe.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
