Will You Still Need Me, Will You Still Feed Me…

I love this photo because it shows a less-than-perfectly groomed little girl. I don’t know what I was up to here, but I was clearly having a good time!

What can I say? It’s my birthday today.

A well-know Beatles song refers to the age I’m celebrating this November 21st. Gracious! How can that be?

As I write this, snow is blowing across the horizon outside my window. It’s very cold and windy. Don has plans for a celebration but I’m told they won’t commence until around 4:30. We’re going somewhere for an early dinner, then back home for some gift-giving.

I’m intrigued.

In the meantime, I’m writing this post and another one on Just Let Me Finish This Page (a book review for an excellent debut mystery – click here.)

I’ll think about my parents and my brother and my dogs and my sister and her family, as well as all my relatives. I’ll thank my lucky stars for my incredible husband, for a career that has been immensely satisfying, for work that is challenging, for friends who enrich my life, for this blog, and you.

    • Just looked again at that photo and noticed the hanky…maybe you were playing that old game, I have a little doggy and he won’t bite you…and he won’t bite you…and he won’t bite you…But he will bite you!” Remember?

        • Yay! Judy remembers. Since you may need to know sometime, children make a big circle, facing inward, backs to the kid who’s IT. IT makes her way around the circle, flicking each child she passes with the handkerchief, saying, “…and he won’t bite you”, until she gets to the kid she wants and screams, “but he will bite you!”, and drops the hanky. The chosen kid now has to pick up the hanky and chase IT, hoping to catch and touch her with said hanky before she gets back around to the empty space in the circle. If IT is not caught, the chaser now becomes the new IT and the game repeats…until everybody is sick and tired of playing it.

  40. Today is my paternal grandmother’s birthday too. She would be 110 if she was here, and as it is, she died at 98 [and a ½ ]. We were all thinking she would be our family’s first centenarian, and she did get close. Here’s hoping you have the same very long & healthy life in your future. And a splendid time tonight. With Don being such a thoughtful and creative person, who knows what he has planned? Exciting! Have a wonderful birthday and many many more! 🎂

    Another one of our many things in common – I turned 64 in September, and you know my love of the Beatles! (64 seemed so old to me when that song came out. I know now how wrong I was!) My girls arranged a Beatles celebration for my birthday. We went to the local drive-in on my actual 64th birthday to see a Beatles cover band and then watch Eight Days a Week, the new Ron Howard documentary about Beatlemania. My girls have heard me talk about Beatlemania and how there will never be anything like it again, and they said until watching the movie, they never really understood how BIG it really was! LOL

    Anyhow, wishing you LOTS of love, happiness, and fun on your special day!
