A Windy Friday

January 13, 2012 at 12:17 pm by Claudia

This is the kind of weather day that makes me want to climb inside the dollhouse for extra protection. The winds are relentless, I can hear them constantly. I worry about the trees, which seem to be losing more and more limbs lately. I used to like the sound of wind. No more. It makes me edgy and nervous.

I had a long day yesterday: four hours of driving in the rain, a full day of rehearsal – all on about 4 hours of sleep. But it was a good day, as well, with a terrific group of actors to work with and a director who is a truly nice person as well as very talented. Got home around 9 p.m., ate some pizza and went to bed. I’m catching up on all my email and comments. Thanks so much for all the wonderful, supportive comments on my two projects. I love creating and it’s tremendously satisfying, but it’s even more so when I can post photos and get such wonderful feedback from friends.

I want a real-sized version of this sofa in my living room.

Anyone want to climb in the dollhouse with me? We could have a cup of tea or coffee and a nice, cozy chat.

I’ll join you for a cuppa tea in the dollhouse, but only if I can wear my fleece jammy pants, top, and house slippers!
It must make you awfully tired, but that job sounds so interesting! Reward yourself with a cozy and restful weekend.
One more thing… Does your dollhouse have a miniature book of your blogposts and a computer so the dollies can blog, too? How cute that would be!

Oh I would love to have a cup of tea in the dollhouse, but definitely I wouldn’t fit….LOL.

I am no longer a fan of the wind, after working in glass greenhouses for years, the sound isn’t soothing at all. Here it’s -9 C this morning, up from the -11 so a cup of tea sounds so delish.

All of my blogs are loading so slowly, and it’s frustrating to wait to read the next page. But that said, at least today I can get to them.

Don’t work yourself too hard, remember to take a break.

When I first saw your photo (before reading what you had written) I thought it was a real photo of your house. I wanted to have a place like that to curl up in too.

Hoping the winds subside and the sun comes out of you.

Claudia, it’s been snowing for two days and two nights here in Ottawa. On both days, I had obligations so I had to be out there. It’s not cold though today which always makes the buses overheated. I have to go out again soon. A cup of hot tea sounds good as long as its Tetley tea. (Insert a grin). On the other hand, it’s probably so crowded by now with all the girls squeezing in that we would not be able to have a tete a tete. So, I’ll take you up on the cup of tea another time. Take care of yourself tonight. Just relax!

I didn’t realize this was a doll house image at first! haha! I was thinking that I hadn’t seen that couch. Hey, I hate the wind the most. It makes me feel the same way. I just went out on our deck and laid the rocking chairs down as they were banging in the wind against the rails. I get more scared of the wind than anything. We have 50 mile per hr winds right now. They just suspended ferry service to Marthas Vineyard…I’ll be glad when it dies down.

I worry about my trees, too. It would be nice to have an arborist give them some TLC. Sigh ~ Maureen

Very cold, windy and snowy here today. I worry about the wind downing the power lines. I like my cozy warm house.

You get the sofa and I’ll take the blue cabinet. It is bitterly cold here and Clovis and I are by a roaring fire missing Joe who is working and at the old house. Glad the play is going well.

I’m with you about getting nervous during high winds ever since Hurricane Fran dropped trees through my roof, and on my lovely Camry, crushing the roof into the seats – thank goodness I was not in it! Of course that was years ago, but I still cringe when I hear high winds, especially at night when I can’t see what’s blowing where.

Stay safe and have a good restful weekend dear.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
