Around the House

April 30, 2015 at 8:25 am by Claudia

Because I’m still under the weather.

Because I managed to take some photos yesterday despite being sick.

4-30 view

Because this was my view for much of the day yesterday. The sun hitting those blinds makes them look neon.

4-30 use other stair

Because we say so.

4-30 bathroom plant

Because this plant loves the bathroom.

4-30 script

Because I love the American Musical Comedy.

4-30 impatiens

Because I got up out of my sick chair and moved all the over-wintered impatiens back out to the porch. Except this one. Because it’s blooming upstairs in the studio.

4-30 books

Because.

4-30 fabric tote

Because the antique shelf that was holding all this fabric fell off the wall and broke.

4-30 duff

Because I love this sign.

4-30 riley's garden

Because Riley’s Dish Garden has a mind of its own. Just like Riley.

4-30 creamy mccoy

Because this is upstairs in the studio. And I’m thinking of adding even more. Uh oh.

4-30 monty

Because Monty’s rear view is adorable.

Happy Thursday.

All of the photos are great but I think I like Monte’s rear view the best. :-) I’ve been taking allergy med for the past few days for the pine pollen here. It coats everything with yellow pollen, then when it rains it runsdown he street like a river of neon yellow paint. Ick. I feel for you my friend. I hope you’ll soon be well again.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

I have a plant just like the one that you said “loves the bathroom.” Don’t know what it is, except that it’s a cutting given to me by my Mom about 30 years ago. And no kidding, but I think mine might be bionic because I have nearly neglected it to death SO many times. It’s recovering from quite a spell without water right now, poor forsaken little thing, but lovin’ a bright sunny day right now. Hope you are too. Feel better soon, Claudia.

If it’s like mine, it’s a pothos. They are very sturdy and can survive a lot of neglect, then once you water them, they revive almost instantly.

That must be right because mine looks EXACTLY like yours, and it never ceases to amaze me, how quickly the poor thing springs back after I remember to water it. Thank you! PS – good thing I don’t have kids – LOL. :>)

You have SO much cute stuff. Have I ever seen Monty before? I don’t think so. I LOVE how all the cream pottery goes together so beautifully as a collection! And the fabric collected off the shelf is begging, “Use me! Use me!” Sending healing thoughts; feel better! I was going to mention that it must feel so good to have light and sunshine coming thru your windows after so much dark and snow. Bears…coming out of hibernation. It is wonderful seeing the sun and feeling its warmth. We’ve been waiting for it a long time! Monty shows up now and then on the blog, but you may not have seen him. We love him. He has the sweetest face, by the way.

Commisserations Claudia – I know just how you’re feeling.
I’ve had three days off work confined to my bed with flu!
It’s mid Autumn over here and I must have caught a chill, so I’ve been dosing up on Vitamin C and the really good Honey.
Your photos and captions are all lovely – the soft floral fabric that Monty is gazing at is gorgeous!
    Take care
    Hugs
    Shane

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
