Mom is home from the hospital as of yesterday. She is on medication to help regulate her blood pressure and is on the mend. Now if only my Dad could get some relief from his back pain…he threw it out while trying to clean the microwave! Oh, you two…what am I going to do with you?
A Treat from The Beautiful Life
A package arrived for me yesterday at the theater. It was a pillow I ordered from Ruth at The Beautiful Life. It is a pillow from her Mathematicus line that I special ordered.
Isn’t it lovely? If you go to her site, you will find photos of the pillows in various fabrications. I ordered ’21’ because it is my birthday; the standard series consists of ’12’, ’34’, and ’56’. If you put them all together you get ‘123456’! The text is stitched on the pillow cover.
Ruth has a beautiful website – go on and pay her a visit!
My mom is still in the hospital having tests. I will keep you updated.
The Teaching Begins
Can you tell I am teaching again? My desk is this little table and it seems to have been overtaken by WORK! I had my first classes yesterday. I renewed my acquaintance with the second year students and met for the first time the first year students. So far so good. I have a lot of prep work to do each day as I haven’t taught for a long time. I’m also coaching a play that is in technical/dress rehearsals at night so my schedule is filling up. The busier the better, I think, as it helps ease my homesickness.
On another note, I just found out my Mom had to be hospitalized this morning, so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is currently having tests done, and I hope we can get to the bottom of this mystery. It seems I am far away from all my family at a stressful time.
