Basket of Flowers

August 5, 2009 at 3:00 pm by Claudia

Do you remember my basket? I found it when I was in San Diego. Here is its new home. I took a trip to IKEA yesterday with Heidi and her daughters. Heidi’s eldest daughter is going to be an Resident Advisor at her university. She wanted to decorate her room. What better place than IKEA? We were in there over 3 hours…but she ended up with some great buys. On the way back we stopped at….be still my heart….Trader Joe’s. I’ve missed it so much! This TJs is the closest one to us – a car ride of over an hour. I bought a few things, including this bouquet. You can’t beat the price. I decided to photograph it today…oh, wait a minute, someone else would like to be included in the photo. She is posing.

She has a flair for the drama, just like her Mama. Look at her, gazing wistfully toward the front door. It brings a tear to your eye, doesn’t it? Miss Scout, Oscar-winning actress. At least she thinks so.

I love those baskets. I have seen several in different antique stores. Your flowers look good in there. I think Scout is wanting to go out for a romp in the yard maybe? Hope your week has been a good one this far. Vicki

Love the basket. Love the flowers, and I adore Trader Joes. We have them here in the valley. Best grocery store in the valley. They have everything. If you can dream it, they have it. Their vegetables (fresh) are so wonderful. Lots of organic foods too. Love Miss Scout too. Isn’t she precious. Great post Claudia. Great post. I so enjoy seeing your smiling face. Country hugs and love, Sherry

Ikea was wonderful when Ashley was living in NYC! Scout does the same posing over the chair arm as our Noodle does!

I think the basket sits right perfectly on the side table :-)

And applause to the budding actress in the home :-)What a dear. I don’t think nobody could resist not taking a picture.

Oh, what a sweet fur baby!!! I can tell she’s a bit spoiled, isn’t she? LOLOL!!! That’s what fur babies are for! I love your basket. You know I have never been to IKEA. The one that is close enough for a day trip is in Atlanta. My daughter and son-in-law visited there to find some things for their new house a few months ago. They are still talking about how large the store is and how it would take more than a day to really see everything. IKEA is high on my list of places to visit. Thanks for sharing!
    Blessings,
    Marilyn

I remember your flower holder from CA. It looks beautiful, Claudia… And the photo with Scout is priceless! I also love that exposed white brick in your cottage.

We spent Sunday afternoon at IKEA. Amanda is moving into her first apartment in Sept. and she got a beautiful double bed. Court goes back to college in September, but rather than living at the dorm, she and 2 friends got an apartment, so she got a bed as well… And the assorted sheets and such… What a fun place to browse and shop… Donna

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
