A cooler Saturday, which is welcome. Some rain coming on Sunday. Don mowed the large section of the front lawn yesterday. I did some weed pulling and clean up work.
At the end of the day, we were both very tired. I didn’t do all that much, so I am putting it down to pollen and allergies. Because EVERYTHING is bursting forth at the moment. Even the catalpa leaves have emerged – a very tiny version of them, but they’re there.
In the big garden bed. I couldn’t see any buds for the longest time. Finally, one bud emerged. And then, seemingly overnight, flowers everywhere. There’s another patch of these in the woods behind the shed. They’re so lovely.
I’m reading The English Spy by Daniel Silva. And when I’m finished, I think I will be caught up with this series. I’m not absolutely sure, though. I thought I might have already read The English Spy, but I now realize that wasn’t the case. I also picked up Amor Towles’ newest book, Table for Two, a collection of short stories. I’m not a big short story fan, but I love his writing so much that I’m eager to dive in.
Don was supposed to play a gig today, but the venue accidentally double-booked it, so – no gig. Instead, he will mow the corral and the lilac side of the front lawn. Lucky Don!
Okay. Have to go.
Stay safe.
Happy Saturday.

We’re having a cooler Saturday, too. Your flowers are all so beautiful. Too bad things so lovely to look at are sometimes the things that make us sneeze! I was hesitant to read the short story collection from Amor Towles, but I also thoroughly enjoyed his previous books, so I’ll probably read it at some point. Hope Don gets another gig soon.

Thank you, Barrie!
Stay safe.

It’s been a nice day here…slight wind, and rain was predicted but not a drop so far. My son came over to pull out several evergreens that had gotten way too big, and were threatening other evergreens this morning. That job would’ve taken my husband and I probably 2 hours…he did all in half an hour. Oh…to be young again!
We’ve also been working in the yard moving perennials and adding a few more. Our muscles are sore, but, at least we are done. Now…only thing left is the containers. Sorry Don’s gig got cancelled, but yay, he can now mow? I’m sure he would rather be performing.
I think I need a nap….or at least a rest for my sore muscles. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! ;)
Claudia says
Oh to be young again, for sure!
Thanks, Donnamae.
Stay safe.

It was nice here, too. A good long walk to see my geese at the Ditch. One family has hatched but Mother Goose is still sitting. It should be any day now. I have weeding to do but the back was dicey so I’m saving it for Sunday.
Your daffs are just lovely. Isn’t it turning out to (finally) be a lovely spring?
Claudia says
It is! Thank goodness!
Stay safe, Jeanie.

Daffodils can be glorious especially in large numbers. There’s a long stretch of country road on my journey to work where local folk have planted daffodils on both sides. For about a month they’re in bloom and it’s so cheerful to see them.
Happy Saturday
Claudia says
I love seeing lots of daffodils, Dee Dee.
Stay safe.

Sorry Don’s gig was cancelled due to double-booking. Grrrr, but it happens.
I have bad grass allergies and avoid walking near any mowing activity. I’m ok as long as the grass isn’t being cut.
been on the East Coast this week. I haven’t been here in over 40 years and it’s good to be back and experience Boston. And Philadelphia for the first time. Immersed in Revolutionary War history as the secondary reason for the trip, the primary being baseball games at iconic Fenway and at Citizens Bank Park. Lots of walking.
Claudia says
I’m allergic to grass pollen, but needs must!
I’ve lived in both Philadelphia and Boston. And I walked miles every day. Loved it!
Stay safe, Wendy.
