Pink Saturday

March 21, 2009 at 12:09 am by Claudia

Happy Pink Saturday! Since I am in a home-away-from-home, I’m always afraid I’ll run out of pink things. I mean there’s only so much I can accumulate while I am here. As I looked around for this week’s post, I came upon a little plate that I bought when I first arrived. It is from Bavaria and has a signature on the back.

Pink Roses in my living room

A sweet pink pillowcase embroidered with “Hers” – I bought it from my friend Joy’s booth at Vignettes.

I hope you all have a wonderful Saturday. I may not get around to reading everyone’s posts until later in the day. I plan to go to the Barn Sale at La Maison Rustique in Temecula in the morning. This sale only happens once a month and I was too busy to attend last month. I’ve heard great things! I’ll be taking the camera in order to share it with you.

Please visit Beverly at How Sweet the Sound to see links to all today’s Pink Saturday posts. Thank you, Beverly, for all your hard work!

My Orchid

March 19, 2009 at 7:26 pm by Claudia

Ah, Trader Joe’s. Source of inexpensive food, flowers, paper towels, and this – a lovely orchid. I have never been fortunate enough to possess one before this. And, of course, I won’t be able to transport it back to New York in July. First of all, I’ll be on a plane…but when we packed up and moved all out stuff out East on a truck almost 8 years ago, I had to give up all my house plants and pass them on to others who I could only hope would keep them alive. California won’t let you take a plant out or in. I tend to bond with everything – all plants have a personality, my little stuffed bear, Chloe, has a sensitive soul and hears everything I say, I won’t let anyone deliberately kill a bug, I talk to little spiders as I free them from the bathtub….what can I say? When I was little, I remember getting very sad everytime we bought a new car because I felt we were abandoning our old one and it would be heartbroken. I still have some of that in me.

So, I took a chance buying this orchid. Obviously, I hope it lives on and I have to pass it on to some friend in San Diego. It was just so beautiful that I had to buy it. And I will get attached. I already am.

Pretty new things

March 18, 2009 at 12:24 pm by Claudia

I found this necklace at Vignettes last week. This particular artist takes old watches and adds a letter under the crystal. Hanging below is an old watch face and a crown. I think it is lovely. And the chain is long, which I really like.

I also found this sweet piece at my friend Joy’s booth at Vignettes. Since I dream of going to Paris, I thought wearing a reminder of my dream would be a great idea!

School is back in session, students are restless because the end is in sight, there are still lots of things I need to cover in class – you get the picture. I can’t believe the semester has gone so quickly. Must get to work correcting some transcriptions! Have a great day!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
