Mockingbird Hill Cottage’s porch is featured on Rachel’s lovely blog, A Romantic Porch for the month of March! Thank you so much, Rachel. When I started blogging, Rachel was one of the first bloggers to reach out and extend a warm welcome. Please stop by and visit her when you have a chance.

For my far away friends

March 2, 2009 at 12:39 am by Claudia

I bought these two lovely pins (and one for myself) from my friend Joy’s booth at Vignettes. Perfect color, perfect look. I miss my dear friends back home. We work together at Heidi’s store, we love all things vintage and we love auctions. Did I mention the fact that we all have the same surname? Hill. Yes, we do. It makes us laugh, this same name thing…it is as if it was a requirement for the job. “Must answer to the last name of Hill.” I file it all under the category of ‘Meant to be.’

I waited to post this photo until I knew my package had arrived. It has. I miss you, friends. Go to an auction for me, okay?

Pink Saturday

February 28, 2009 at 2:54 am by Claudia

Beverly of How Sweet the Sound has a Pink Saturday post every Saturday. Many bloggers take part in this, and I thought I would join in today. Since I am away from home, in a furnished apartment, I am limited in my access to pink. I think I managed to find enough for a respectable post!

Pink flowers on my Rachel Ashwell shower curtain (bought to replace the hideous one provided in the apartment.)

Pink flowers on my coffee cup.

Pink rose on my wall.

Pink roses on an antique plate. Can you tell I love flowers?

One of two pink dishes I bought to hold keys, jewelry, etc.

Pink, white and yellow Alstromeria

Pink roses in a painting by Gail McCormick that I purchased from Shabby Fufu.

I think I will stop here. I have some other pink things, but I should save them for another Pink Saturday! I hope you enjoyed all my pink treasures.

More later.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
