Solstice Sunset

December 22, 2019 at 11:15 am by Claudia

A quick one today as I was delayed in writing this post. An unexpected Face Time call from Little Z took precedence.

The photo is of last night’s sunset. Pretty magical for Winter Solstice.

I’m still under the weather – one moment feeling better, the next worse. Typical cold. I am sleeping a lot and that’s a good thing. I did run out yesterday to get one thing for Don and today I’ll stay home. Then back out tomorrow for a couple of little things.

I’m hoping this gets to you who follow via email. The emails have been going out earlier than usual and I have no control over that. Fingers crossed!

Today the daytime temperature will be in the forties and we can finally get rid of some of the ice that has been here all week. It’s also beautifully sunny out there.

Don just gave Z a tour of the house; the Christmas tree, the photos of Z that we have on the refrigerator, Don’s mini studio, and the antique dollhouse. He loved it.

Okay, friends. More tomorrow.

Happy Sunday.

That sunset is perfect! All that color against the bleakness of winter landscape. Breathtaking.
We had our holiday facetime yesterday, too. Sometimes technology is magical. Hope your cold is on the run, too.

I get your post via email and it arrived just fine – earlier but no complaint with that. The sunset is beautiful. Your little hill gives you a nice advantage to see and take pictures of it. We can see them from our home but too many houses and trees in the way. I always text my sister and say what a beautiful sunset so that she will check it out. They live in the country and have a larger view. Have been enjoying all of your posts and haven’t commented lately – just lazy, I suppose. Hope you and Don get feeling much better and may you have a wonderful Christmas and best wishes for a happy, healthy New Year.

Gorgeous sunset! Supposed to be 50 here today….unreal!

I don’t always wait for the email if I have time. And today….I have time. Just a few more presents to wrap, and I can relax until I bake some cookies on Christmas Eve. Sounds like you had a good chat with Little Z. I’ll get my FaceTime in with London son on Christmas…yay.

Sounds like a good day for a book, a nap, and just idly starring at the twinkling lights. Feel better! ;)

We had matching sunsets last night! It was soooo pretty.

Bet Little Z had a bazillion questions as Don took him on the tour. If only you had an elevator!!!! That would have made his day!

Hope you feel better as the day progresses. It is a warm one here (at least for December!!).
    Take care!

hope the feeling-better moments quickly and greatly outnumber the lousy ones and you feel completely better soon.

and that at least some of that ice will soon melt.

    beautiful sunset!

also beautiful what technology can do for people who love each other, but are unfortunately many miles apart. :)

    happy sunday.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
