A bit of everything from our day yesterday:
Times Square. It’s only a few blocks from the apartment. We considered going to the TKTS booth to get half-price matinee tickets for a show, but the listings didn’t perk our interest. We’ve already seen Anastasia. Sponge Bob Squarepants? No.
But this is why I made Don walk over this way:

We journey back to the Upper West Side, where we walked around in Central Park on a day that almost fooled us into believing that Spring was here.
We had a vegan brunch at a great restaurant and we moseyed around the neighborhood, enjoying all the brownstones and shops and museums.
I’d heard of Book Culture but had not been there yet – so happy we stumbled upon the shop. Fantastic book store.
We went back to The Sill so I could grab another ZZ plant for my office at home. Then we headed back to the apartment because we were tired and Don starts rehearsals this morning and I am headed back home.
It was a great weekend. Sad to say goodbye to my husband but I’ll be back soon.

Yes, it does wear you out—but in the best way, I think. Maybe the city has such energy because it siphons off the energy of sooooo many people.

Have been loving the vicarious “city-living” experiences you’ve given us lately. Even though I’d never want to live in a city, it’s absolutely as the saying goes – “nice place to visit…” REALLY nice place. SO much to see & do. Those photos of the theater district are especially great! The picture in Central Park that shows one building – is that the Plaza? Just wondering. Have a safe & quick trip home. Peace.

I adore the photos of NYC! When I’ve been out of a city for awhile and then go to one, it’s amazing how much energy there is! and nowhere is more energizing then New York I believe. I am dreaming of a time when I will come to the city, see some shows and visit you and Don. One of these years! On my bucket list. Hope you got home safely. I’ve been sleeping a lot today, part of the healing process I know. Hugs!

I am so excited for Don. I have told everyone I know that I know a guy starring in a Broadway play by way of you.
As for your ice Claudia, I don’t know how you’ll feel about this, but salt will work. If you don’t like the idea of the melt it type of ice regular table salt will work too. You just make sure to be out there while it is melting. We’ve often used table salt to get rid of ice.
Oh we use salt all the time. The problem is that the ice is about 2 or 3 inches thick and the salt isn’t up to the task.
Such a different Sunday than one you would spend at the cottage! That surely makes it even more fun. Will there be many new cast mates for Don in the NYC production, or did a lot of the cast stay with the play?
It is a gloomy and quite rainy day here. The 4 or 5 inches of snow we got last week are gone. With frost in the ground, there are many many puddles all over the yard. The dogs are not happy with going out. It is about 40*, so hopefully we won’t have this rain turning to ice.

There’s one new ensemble member but everyone else is the same. Our snow hasn’t fully melted yet – we got about 9 inches on Wednesday, so it’s going to take a while for it all to melt. It’s muddy and snowy and in my case, still icy, as well. A yucky gray day. And no, that slab of ice, which is quite thick, is still there!
I can’t imagine negotiating a large city anymore…that first pic, with all those people, too much for me. But, I am glad I get to explore it vicariously through you. It’s cold and rainy here today…we’ve got quite the lake in the backyard. Hopefully your ice slab at home will have melted on its own! ;)
Cold and rainy here as well, and it will be tomorrow, too. Not my favorite kind of weather. The ice slab is still there.
