Sunday in the Garden

June 17, 2018 at 9:44 am by Claudia

Some more photos from early yesterday morning:

Another very hot day today, and tomorrow, and the next day…

I had brunch with Rick and Doug yesterday and I didn’t get back home until 3. Everything in the garden was wilting, so I went into overdrive and watered like crazy. In the process, I pulled something in my back.

It’s way too hot for the garden and for me.

I saw Nigel out and about this morning. He’s rather petite and darker than the other groundhogs. Completely adorable.

Okay. I’m going to make this short as I desperately need more coffee and I haven’t responded to yesterday’s comments yet.

Missing my father today.

Happy Sunday.

    Wow!
98? That’s even hotter than it is here in Ft. Lauderdale! Deep watering us the answer.

Hope you enjoy the Sunday & your trip tomorrow.

Love the orange rose and the lavender. I have lavender in the back yard and this year the bee’s love it. Hot here too in WV.

TOO HOT! Oh my so hard on the plants. I hope your back is better, I pulled mine and twisted my knee doing what I’m not sure. So darn hard to get older at times. I’ve been sitting here on the computer and seeing all the Father’s Day messages. I miss my Dad very much today also. Hugs!

Your flowers are beautiful. I have found with back issues that most of the time it helps to keep moving.
I can relate to your missing your father on Father’s Day, I feel the same way about my mother on Mother’s Day even though I am envious of those who had good fathers.

I can relate, Claudia – missing mine too. My Dad’s birthday is June 8 and being that it was always close to Father’s Day, we sometimes did a joint [big] celebration for him. Wherever he is, I hope he’s relaxing today with my Mom and his best friend Leo and Leo’s wife Rene – they were all best friends – in a lawn chair, in the shade, with a huge whiskey sour [his favorite]. Peace. 💔

Your flowers are gorgeous! Really hot, hot here…good day to stay in, except for the necessary watering. I think the heat will break here by Tuesday…hopefully.

Sorry to hear about your back. It’s confusing to me how easily I seem to be able to pull muscles these days, just doing the simplest of things. Things I’ve done for years. Stay cool! ;)

I will, though I keep having to go outside to water the plants. It’s particularly brutal on the morning glory and moonflower seedlings.

Too hot! When the heat indexes are into the 100’s, it is just too darn hot.

Watered this morning and heading out again soon. The kids were here for Father’s Day today, and we did one quick walk around the yard to see the gardens and were inside the rest of the day. They headed home, and we just did a ride to the cemetery to water there, also. The ground is hard. So early ~ before Summer has even begun ~ for all of this heat. Makes us wonder what lies ahead.

I hope you have safe travels tomorrow, and a fun time with Don!! Enjoy, even if it will be a hot time! Lots of AC to wander in.

and your sad heart for missing your parents. hope you can do something today that is in honor of them, good for you. i know it will help being with don very soon. wish the weather was better so you could stay longer in nyc.

we have heat warnings, too, so am staying indoors. and am glad to have a couple days off work to just stay home, work on things around here that i don’t seem to get to on workdays. and maybe even spend an hour or two reading. :)

travel safe and enjoy the next couple days especially!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
