Where Do You Think We’re Going?

October 15, 2019 at 10:07 am by Claudia

Gosh, it was a gorgeous day yesterday! A high of 70, sunny all day long, beautiful light hitting the orange-yellow leaves on the trees – just beautiful. Though our maples are fast losing their leaves – they’ll be bare within the next week.

Today, though not quite as warm, looks to be just as beautiful.

We’re headed to Rhinebeck today. Don needs a new book to read, so we’re going to Oblong Books. We’re going to try to walk around the town a little, as well. I’ll take some pictures for you. Rhinebeck is a lovely town and I think it’s at its best in the Fall.

I have lots to do in the next few days before we leave for our trip on Sunday. I haven’t revealed the destination yet, but I will. Where do you think we’re going? If you’ve got an idea, please leave your guesses in the comments.

I know this is short, but I have to get going!

Happy Tuesday.

California? Or Florida to see Little Z? Wherever it is, hope you have a lovely, relaxed, rejuvenating time. XO

I seem to recall that you were wanting to go back to Michigan—is that it? Have a good trip to wherever it will be!

Leaves are falling around here, too. We haven’t stayed around the lake this late into the season for quite a few years and it’s surprising how soon the beautiful fall colors devolve into a not-so-pretty winter.

After you and many of your readers have sung the praises of Deborah Crombie books, I have ordered the first three, thinking that they might be like Louise Penny’s and should be read in order. But for now, no reading. Only winterizing and packing up.

Glad you’re enjoying a little extra time in NY. Yes, those books are best read in order because they track the relationship between the two protagonists. Enjoy! No to Michigan.

Where are you going? Michigan? To retrieve a trunk, or something? That sticks in my mind for some reason. I’ll come back and check to see the other guesses…lol. Have fun in Rhinebeck….I’m sure you’ll have a lovely time! ;)

I’m curious…why did you delete the ‘response box’ before we hit comment? (I kinda miss that.)

Because I was having trouble with the plugin. I wrote about it a couple of times and asked everyone to check back in later in the day for my response.

When I feel comfortable with it again, I’ll reinstate it.

      No to Michigan.

Ooh I love a guessing game! I remember you said a mystery trip a short while ago so that would maybe suggest somewhere you haven’t been before. The trouble is I don’t know where!
I was thinking of New England before Trina posted but I am going to say somewhere on the coast rather than inland. My other guess would be Long Island.
(In reality these are some of the places I would like to visit, should I ever be fortunate enough to get to the U.S 😀)

    Happy Tuesday

No to New England, as I used to live there and we’ve both spent a lot of time there. Long Island doesn’t really hold any appeal.

You’ll see the answer on today’s post!

I hope you’re going to England and that lovely Sandoe shop! Since Michigan is ruled out (you must let me know if you come to Michigan — I’d love to travel to wherever you are to meet!) I’m also guessing (judging from the previous income tax owing post) that it’s probably not abroad. Unless maybe Canada. I’ll throw my hat into the ring with Quebec City, since Vieux Quebec is the closest thing to Paris or at least France on this continent, the exchange rate is good, one can drive (a long drive, but do-able) and it’s just the coolest city on the continent!

I, too, was thinking Canada. Although I remember you talked about a few places on your cross-country drive a couple of years ago that you missed. Wherever it is, I hope you have a wondrous time!!

Looking forward to the pictures tomorrow.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
