Blooms

June 5, 2018 at 9:03 am by Claudia

Blooming:

I tried to sit on the porch this morning, but a little sparrow kept chirping at me. Flitting from the rose bush to the clematis, he/she was clearly anxious. I finally realized that there’s a nest down in the boxwood and the parent was trying to feed some babies.

So I came inside.

Can’t I just sit on my porch for a while?

Thank you for all your kind comments.

I will be perfectly honest here and say that I’m not doing well.

So, while I’ll post daily, I might not write much. Or I might. Who knows? I’m just trying to keep busy between bouts of profound sadness. Trying to stay strong for my husband who is doing his best to cope and be positive in the midst of heartbreak and loss. I don’t want to say more than that because it’s his story and it should be private.

Thanks for understanding.

Also: I think my AOL email was hacked. I changed my password of course, but if you get anything weird, just delete it.

Dear Claudia, shock and loss brings grieving. Be kind to yourself, this will take time. We will be here because you have formed a group of kindred spirits. Take whatever time you need. HTH Janet

hope you feel better soon. in the meantime (and it is a “mean time” right now, isn’t it? stupid and wrong negative reviews!) and always, take good care of yourself with time on the porch, reading, watching for some baby sparrows in the future, whatever you need. we’ll be waiting for you whenever you want to get to this space.

ps: i hope someone did take photos that include you and jimmy meeting each other and get them to you, but the main thing is you had that experience.

pss: i am happy for (and a bit jealous of) you for that!

Take your time. You know that we understand and will still be here! Through the years we have all grieved together over pets, parents, (fake) presidents, and many of us have or will have a job or career blip as is the case now. Friends stick by each other and certainly understand the need to just be alone for a while to catch our breath. I have to believe that it being spring/ summer it will help a bit instead of being cooped up for days and days of winter. Enjoy the flowers and the birds! Never doubt that we are here!! ♡

I just hate it when people who are as kind and generous as you are hurting. We’ve all been there and understand. Take care of yourself, Don and the cottage until good times return.

What a huge disappointment. It really sucks. You should feel bad. Just feel the feelings.

I have had huge losses recently too. I know it will get better someday but for now I am going to feel crappy if I want.

    Sending calm energy.

God grant me the wisdom to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

I’ve read every wise and loving comment and can only add my own heart to the group’s.
one thing came to my mind.
your wonderful and beautiful cottage. HOME! just the word. and you have both made it so special.
now it’s a refuge. to just relax and revel in. to feel stronger. to be nourished.
and borrow Sam. hugs from a dog make everything better. but then you already know that!
    sending love.

Maybe the birdie and you will reach an easy place but, gosh, I know with jays, if they’re protecting a nest, look out.

I’m sure that even though they know better, Don and cast and crew and everybody else must be grappling with a sense of failure which has to be just awful when they’ve put their life, heart and soul into the production. It feels personal. Although it’s business. OMG, just remembered a similar exchange from that movie, You’ve Got Mail. When the big-bad box bookstore put the Little Shop Around The Corner out of business and Tom Hanks tries to tell Meg Ryan that it wasn’t personal and she says it should, if anything else, start with being personal and just because it doesn’t mean it’s not personal to ‘you’ it doesn’t mean it isn’t personal to someone else.

May your beautiful blooms give you comfort, Claudia. Thinking of you…

A door has definitely closed for you, so here’s hoping a window opens VERY soon. And it opens on something very wide and wonderful. So wonderful that you’re both able to forget about that closed door quickly. And maybe even bless it. 🎭

I feel so deeply for you two, it is personal and it becomes so to your readers, also. Such a deep disappointment for a committed crew of entertainers…I feel the harshness of critics is ruining so much for us. New authors, artists, entertainers, new restaurants are all treated so unkindly and quickly.

The critics just didn’t get it, but they were mean-spirited and petulant in their reviews. I despise them. Thank you, Gayle.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
