Corners of the Cottage

August 15, 2026 at 9:18 am by Claudia

Around the cottage on a Saturday morning.

I think I might do this kind of post on Saturdays. After having written a long post on Friday, I often don’t have much to say the next day. But photos taken from bits and pieces of the cottage might be fun. And it injects fresh energy into a Saturday morning.

Did you know I have a YouTube Channel? I share a bit about my collections and the cottage and the dollhouses. But lately, I’ve been doing weekly posts on the process of renovating the Beacon Hill. You can hear my voice and get a sense of my successes and struggles. There is more there than there would be in a standard post here.  “Claudia the Chronic Collector” and here is the link.

Stay safe.

Happy Saturday.

your saturday morning post (heehee) idea sounds and looks great … and i’m glad it will be easier for you! so, yes, please and thank you to that.

also, i am so pleased for you to have a framed photo on the wall of you and sally field (and others) from when you acted together in “spoiler alert”!!!

i am going to enjoy a do-very-little day today. had a busy week just past, with some little things being much more complicated or time-consuming than i’d hoped or thought they would be, and i have some bigger things coming up, so am going to take it easy today.

hope you, don and everyone else have a good weekend. and that all the tax paperwork is ready for you and don. :)

Maybe I should be writing them in the “evening” Kathy! Take it easy today.

I love every photo! It’s a wonderful idea. And seeing how much you have already done on Beacon Hill as a whole is inspiring!

It’s so hard to take a picture like that because there’s very little room in which to significantly step back from it.

      Thanks, Jeanie.

I love the photos of the cottage and your life. I’m just starting to feel a bit better after losing Annie. I will grieve her for a long time I fear. Aging myself has brought new perspectives.

I understand. I teared up over Scoutie the other day. It never fully goes away. We just learn to live with it.

      Stay safe, Linda.

Love the photo post. You really don’t need words as long-time readers like me are familiar with your collection.

That’s a cool pic of the renovated Beacon Hill….sort of like a side by side before and after. You’ve made great progress. Looks like only three more to go?

I like the idea of your cottage glimpses, and always enjoy your collections, so I’m on board if that’s what you decide to do on Saturdays…or any day for that matter.

I’ve been fighting a summer cold for what seems like weeks, so it’s high time I clean my house while I’m starting to have some energy. Enjoy your weekend!! ;)

I hope that pesky cold is leaving soon, Donnamae. My allergy/sinus crap has been terrible this summer. Sometimes it stops me, but mostly, I just push through.

      Thanks.

Oh, thank you, Deb. I should have mentioned that there is a playlist for the Beacon Hill and if you click on it, you can watch those videos in order.

I love the Saturday “Corner of the Cottage” idea! And for some reason, I’ve never visited your YouTube channel, but that just changed. It’s going to take a while to work through everything, but I’m really looking forward to it. Thank you so much for sharing your hobbies with us.

There’s a ‘playlist’ for the Beacon Hill renovation and if you click on it, it should show you the videos in order of publish date.

      Thanks so much, Roneta.

It’s good for me, too. I look at things I now take for granted and see them with fresh eyes.

      Stay safe, Debbie.

I love looking at pictures of your cottage. I sometimes picture myself living there. You have done such a beautiful job with it. I am particularly jealous of your Stella! I only have a small miniature dollhouse which I found in a thrift store and a couple room boxes so I really enjoy looking at yours. That Beacon Hill looks awesome! I will have to check out your You Tube page. Enjoy your Sunday !

Hi Claudia! I love seeing pictures from around the house! Especially the other dollhouses, and the overall shots of the Beacon Hill…. you know I can never get enough. And the glimpses of other minis just hanging out on the shelves… so fun! I haven’t been to your you-tube yet, but I’ll try to fit it in too. A relaxed morning sounds wonderful!

Ooh, your coolness factor just goes on! Will check out your you tube.
The weather is cooler and thats nice. Thd bussing basically sucks. Our city is small but it takes Forever to get around. One bus has no a/c, one bus broke down today and I also was on a bus that was going someplace else today (cause of our broken bus). Im glad i only go out 2x a week.
My mom was Ann Rodermond – does anyone remember her from like 5 yrs ago? She was a puzzler, knitter, quilter, breadmaker, sewer. All around crafter. From Alberta. Wondering.
I made a fairy garden years ago. Your fairy is so pretty, Caudia

Wondering where your cobwebs are – I’d be hard pressed to find many corners here without them, despite a good bit of wandering around with a feather duster on a pole!

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
