Pink Saturday

April 4, 2009 at 12:48 pm by Claudia

Hello everyone and Happy Pink Saturday – brought to you by Beverly of How Sweet the Sound. Please click on the link to discover more Pink Saturday deliciousness.

When I was a little girl, my Mom dressed me in pink a lot. She called me her ‘pink bunny.’ I love that memory, so the first pink treasure is this little pink bunny I found while out shopping. The little pink bunny needs some pink eggs, of course.

These little vintage treasures were all found in a little bag I purchased. I knew the thread was there, but was delighted to find the little drawstring bag crocheted in a lovely pink.

And, last but not least, some lovely tulips in a delicate pink.

I will be flying all day Saturday, so I will do my best to visit all your blogs over the next few days. I’m off for a visit home. Time to see my husband, dogs, my cottage, and my garden!

New York State of Mind

April 2, 2009 at 8:59 pm by Claudia

Remember this little house? Yes, it is the cottage referenced in the title of this blog. I am headed home for a visit on Saturday morning. I am so anxious to see my home and my family, I can barely stand it! Fortunately, or unfortunately, I have a lot to do before I leave. Classes are ending, projects must be seen, understudy rehearsals must be attended and errands must be run. Oh, and laundry must be done. But then — I’m outta here for about 12 days total.

I will, of course, be posting from home and will keep you up-to-date on my adventures. And I will post my Pink Saturday a bit early on Friday night.

More later.

Fun Distractions

April 1, 2009 at 3:07 pm by Claudia

Yes, you thought I was done with the eggs, I know, but I am experimenting with my new little gizmo – a tripod. Actually, I’ve had it for a while but just got around to messing with it today. This little guy is very portable and very flexible. You can twist it into about any position you would like. It even wraps around things like posts, or table legs.

It looks like something out of Star Wars, doesn’t it? I have to say it is pretty nifty.

On one of my expeditions, I bought a pack of vintage sewing supplies. I love the buttons and the graphics on the “Happy Home Needle Book.”

Close up of lovely pink tulip courtesy of my handy tripod.

Okay, enough. I’d much rather be experimenting and playing than tackling this:

This is the research that needs to be done for the upcoming shows I’m coaching. One of them is about Cornelia Wallace, at one time wife of George Wallace. I wouldn’t have this DVD otherwise, but it does give me a good idea of their particular Southern Dialect. Have to get to work. More later.

Welcome!

Welcome!

I live in a little cottage in the country with my husband. It's a sweet place, sheltered by old trees and surrounded by gardens. The inside is full of the things we love. I love to write, I love my camera, I love creating, I love gardening. My decorating style is eclectic; full of vintage and a bit of whimsy.

I've worked in the theater for more years than I can count. I'm currently a voice, speech, dialect and text coach freelancing on Broadway, off Broadway, and in regional theater.

Thanks for stopping by.
